I had cross epg working perfectly until I upgraded to nightly build 02/05/2010.

Now when I hit the EPG button the VU+ crashes and restarts.

Am I the only one this happens to on this build?

Did you reflash or did you only update. With only a update this could be indeed the case due to the Kernel ugrade.

When you upgrade from 30-4-2010 or before to 1-5-2010 or later you need to reflash. An online upgrade will result in a not working image.

No reflash. Just an online update.

Indeed pieterg is right. It was no kernel upgrade - these were for the DM8000/DM800/DM500HD. But still you need to reflash...

Anyone know of more problems than the EPG-crash due to only updating instead of reflashing? I have the same EPG-problem (work around is long press on EPG) but would rather not reflash right now.

You really should reflash.

Use the "AutoBackup" PLi plugin to quickly store and recover your settings, see some other "back-up" threads in the forum. Your box will start with most of your settings preserved after the flash.

Yeah, I know - but I'm going away on a trip for a couple of weeks and have entered a number of timer recordings which I don't want to redo. Would like to wait until I get home to do the reflash.

All the more reason to flash now... You're leaving it in an unstable state now. (The backup will also preserve those timers.)

Well, guess what. Installing autobackup or using the already installed backup feature was more things not working with the online updated image. :) Guess I'll have to install an old nfi-backup, backup settings from there and then reflash.

If you have an USB stick or harddisk, you can create the backup manually using telnet (or ssh, or dcc). Issue the following commands (replace "hdd" with "usb" if you use a stick):

mkdir -p /media/hdd/backup
cp -rp /etc/enigma2 /media/hdd/backup/

This will at least preserve your current settings and timers when you flash the box. If you use a USB stick for the backup, flash the box, and when it asks to remove the flash stick and reboot, replace the flash stick with the backup stick before rebooting the box. At (first) boot time the box will see the backup automatically and restore it.

Thanks.

I reverted to an old nfi backup and installed new drivers manually. Will do a reflash when I have the time to experience problems :)
