Hey so i just installed the new openpli image from today 05-05-2010

on my new VU+ Duo (black remote)

and when i go into the extension manager and do a update and choose a plugin to install

it says non installed, uninstalled removed or error 0 was found

and that happens with all plugins i choose


BUT if i go the other way around and via the menu button... system... plugins... download plugins
i can install whatever i want but its not the same nice menu where i can view what the plugins do first

is this a newly created but or are im doing something wrong?

Welcome to the PLi board.
I assume you tried to download local extension from the software update panel.
If there aren't any ipk's placed in the map tmp this won't work.

It's just a guess that you followed this procedure.
So please do menu - applications - green button and choose the plugin you like.

hmm well but there is a list and its extensive but whenever i choose to install x plugin its just not installing it

tomorrow i can get the correct steps i use to reproduce the problem if you like

okay here is the steps to reproduce the problem...

Blue button --> Software management --> Manage extensions --> pick any plugin from the list --> Red button --> Yellow button --> press OK --> Done - Installed. upgraded or removed 0 packages with 0 errors

so that does not work

but if i do it this way it works

Menu button --> Plugins --> Green button --> pick any plugin and install it without any problems


so why does the other menu not work?

I can confirm this problem: it exists only since a couple of days.

It even looks like the extension manager does not work at all: the list of installed applications is not up-to-date.

I have also noticed that the extension manager in softwaremanager is not working flawless.
Some plugins will not install this way, for example Skins.
Wenn ik install skins with the plugin browser, they don't show up in the software manager.
