Hi there,
After updating last night Enigma seems to be crashing regularly. After running for a while the gears animation appears and I the device freezes.
I can continue to view the channel I was on (with the gears animation running in the upper left corner), but I can't access the menus, change channel etc. I can't even access the box via the webinterface (I can connect to the web interface but it keeps "loading" so I can't really use it).
I can still SSH to the box and a reboot fixes it for a while... BUT I wouldn't want to restart in the middle of a recording. I don't even know if it will record or if that would also freeze.
How do I debug this problem? Is there a log file I can have a look at to know what's causing this?
Also I noticed there was a kernel update the other day (2 days ago I believe). Do I have to re-flash the device every time the kernel is updated or was that a one-time-only thing in the beginning of May?

In general, just reboot when a kernel update occured, instead of an e2 restart (which you would normally do after an update).
regarding the 'crash', it shouldn't actually be a crash, just the gears running for 30s every time a recording stops.
Will be fixed in tomorrows build.

As I wrote the gears keep running (30 minutes now), and I can't access the menus or the web interface (that's why I figured it had to be some kind of "crash")... Did You read what I wrote?
The only reason I haven't restarted the box again is that I'm recording now (ran while true; do ls -ltr /media/hdd/movie/ | tail -n 1; sleep 5; done to verify that it IS actually recording).
Earlier today when this happened I also tried /usr/bin/enigma2.sh restart but that didn't seem to solve the problem (bare with me, I'm new to Enigma2/openPLi, and don't know the inner workings... yet)...
- Is there an Enigma log somewhere (maybe I can find out what's going on)?
Thanks for the info regarding kernel updates. So I guess it's like any other Linux distro.

I can confirm that: it does not continue for "only" 30 secs, it is endless. But disabling the PermanentTimeShift did the trick for me.As I wrote the gears keep running (30 minutes now), and I can't access the menus or the web interface (that's why I figured it had to be some kind of "crash")...

Thanks for the info... I'll try disabling it as soon as I'm done recording Troja (or "Troy")...
