I am trying to compile some kernel modules on the box, but it seems that the make tool nor the gcc are available on the image. Can someone tell me if there is any package available?

imho it makes no sense to try and setup a native build environment on the box. There's nothing wrong with the cross environment.

Thank you. I can imagine that is far flexible and a lot more faster to cross compile on a modern PC than on the box.
But, for me, newbee it would have been more convenient to just compile on the box as I have already the source code of the network module rather than setting up a cross compiling environment for MIPSEL
In fact, I would like to build for the driver for the USB WIFI Network adapter Reatek RTL8188. Do you think that the image might support more WIFI adapter than the RT73?
