I just show that the log file is almost empty!
Maybe it is because the DCC in telnet was also never stopped working after the plugin selected.

Sorry I wasted your time by giving a wrong command:
line 5 should have been:

enigma2 > /media/hdd/IPCamViewer.log 2>&1

Could you try that as the log from my previous suggestion is pretty useless.

well,
in the step 7, I do get spinners but I cannot enter "init 4" because DCC keep returning the next lines:

@vgi:
You posted your user/password in the logfile. I suggest you change them now.

You have an extra space on the back of the {command}{axis.protocol} line and this is fatal as far as parsing the conf file is concerned.
Edit the conf file and remove the space at the back of the line and it should work.
Also make sure the user and password on the {camera} line is that of the camera, not the dreambox. The cameras I have dealt with so far use "admin" and not "root", but the Axis might be different.

Note. The documentation clearly states no embedded spaces on lines in the conf file except in the camera description, but I will tighten the parsing.

Foscam - all models. Configuration file included with ipkg.
Marmitek - robocam IP21 - see earlier in this thread for commands

Hi,

I have a VU+ Duo and was installing your software, but have no luck.
Is there someone who can help me?

Installing the software went fine:

When I check /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/IPCamViewer/ all the files are there.
But when I try to access the applications menu with the remote control; I get a message:

Extensions/IPCamViewer (Bad magic number in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/IPCamViewer/plugin.pyc)

@memyself2011 : Try "cp IPCamViewer.pyo ipcamViewer.pyc" (they are both the same). If it still fails your download must be bad - try download/install again. Note also that you have to do a binary transfer of the IPKG to your VU+.

unfortunately it is stil not working. I downloaded the file from your site, also a previous version, used BIN before ftp.
Copied he plugin.pyo to plugin.pyc. (I guess you ment this, because the wa no IPCamViewer.pyo/pyc.

If I do a ls -l on a telnet, I´ll get:

-rwxr-Sr-t 1 root root 44091 Jan 13 21:09 plugin.pyo*

What is the asterix at the end, is this ok?
Do you have any other tips? Is it something because of a VU+ Duo instead of a Dreambox?
I didn´t configured anything, just ftp, install and look in Applications

Unfortunately I don't have a VU+ to try it on. On the dreambox it is not in applications - it is a plugin in the plugin menu. Applications sounds like you are trying to execute it directly - you cannot do this as it is a python plugin and needs to be run by Enigma2 as a plugin.
What version of python does the VU+ run - I guess it must be up-to-date as it runs the other plugins.

Hi Shumifan50,

If I choose the options Applications I get a list of all the plugins that are installed. IPCamViewer is not in this list, because of the error message I get.
My VU+ PLI uses Python 2.5.1, is this a recent version to work with IPCamViewer?
How can I update my Python version?

I dont have a VU+ so I can't test and help you with this. It will be best to find out if anybody has used it on a VU+ and take it from there. I can't imagine there being any difference in plugins between different images as it will make plugin development a nightmare, so I am guessing it is something on your specific box, but it is only a guess.

Maybe one of the Pli team has some ideas.

I've had a play and can't for the life of me get it to work. I have 4 Foscam IP cameras and have used the default settings and tried various ones of my own. Below is the output from enigma2 and the latest config (same results from all configs). DM800 Pli 2.0

I try to install the plugin on vu+duo but I'm getting an error:
