Hi,
is anybody using Homeys Multimediathek? I have a problem. I use a VU+ Duo with a nightly PLi 2 and on most entries I only get "Error downloading XML-file. Any idea?

use a proper xml:

only ascii characters which has to be escaped with a CDATA tag (only in data, not in tags and keywords).

Error downloading looks to me like a problem getting the file, rather than parsing it...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

i can confirm that on Pli 2.0 Multimediathek is having problems.

I also use orginal vuplus 5.6 image and then it runs without a problem.

Since several days this "complaint" is on many forums. And indeed: only about PLi.

In fact the xml is not following the rules as it should be... so in fact the xml should be fixed!!! With a littlebit of help you can also help us with that ;-)

What pli could consider is removing the proper rules for the xml parsers. But I would not prefer that as then we allow non-standard xml files.

I don't think that the end user has the choice to "use a proper xml". Homey (the author of the plugin) is the one that should be told that, but the chance he would listen is zero. In fact, he might have written the xml the way he did just because he knew that PLi won't handle it, causing the plugin to not work on most VU+ and ET9000.

BTW: SOME of the channels are working fine, so at least some of those XMLs seem to be fine.

Do you see a chance to help anyway? I understand that you don't want to support non-standard XML files, but this specific plugin is really really cool for us german users. Maybe you could simply add a new option in settings to enable or disable non-standard XML files.

but the plugin uses minidom, some standard (and slow) python xml parser.
So weird it behaves differently on different images.
