Ter info
I know this has nothing to do with pli self but for those who also devellop and compiling there own image think very ussefull to know.
For users using 12.04 with gnome 3 (as main os). I well suggest to remain at 12.04 for the time . As the mather off fact consider long before moving to an other desktop then gnome3. And certainly do not use gnome 3.12 but stick to 3.10.
Why ?
First small note if You're happy with unity ok no problem (I find unity a disaster and have headach as soon i see it , that's personal off course)
Gnome 3 well all menu are just gone,
- nautilus almost no functionallity anymore there are ways around all really unusable unhandy time consuming My beloved file browser becomes a nightmare.
solution install nemo file browser then back ok
- Gedit into base 14.04 with (gnome 3.10) still ok do not go to gnome-3.12 as it renders gedit also whitout menu's and unusable.
No alternatif found which is as good the gedit. gedit into 3.10 is still ok.
- Evince no menu it's a pestifull pain in the ass now Due to the fact that acroread drops linux developpement its not avbl anymore no alternatif .
for acroread you still can go to there website and install the latest avbl version for linux but it's midlle aged now and only 32 bits.
For evince i'm still looking for good alternatif.
Certainly do not try the upstage gnome 3.12 it does continousely occopie the processor synaptic not working (crashing computer). Extremely slow . with other words it 's completely unstable and all gnome uitlity's do not have menu anymore
this make them usseless.
I have now have the very last gnome version that I ever will use and I'm condisdering moving to other desktop-shell now i'm check for xfce. as I do not like kde at all. Possibly I even will drop ubuntu completely in future.
Before moving to ubuntu lts higher then 12.04 whach out and consider other desktop then gnome 3.

I am new to openpli development and trying to get a working developement environment.
I followed http://users.telenet...npliubuntu.html in the hope to build an image for et9x00. However the build gives errors about undefined references in argp-help.o (see attachment for complete error log). It seems al object files needed are located are available:

I notice there is no logfile attached to my post. I will post the error logs later today.
Yesterday I tried building an image for other machine type, but this also fails with "undefined references in argp-help.o".

As there was a big change yesterday (http://forums.openpl...grade-tomorrow/) I would propose to delete the whole build directory and make an "make update" in the openpli-oe-core directory. Then restart build.

Sorry I just noticed that I've written in Dutch
The log does not say much
I advice to remove the complete openpli-oe-core.
Update You're pc. Check that You did the manual install of bitbake like told into the thread. Install all packages from the line 14.04 (not 12.04)
Reboot You pc . Not always needed but well adviced after upgrade.
Clone again
rebuild again.
If it fails just simply try to build a second time (often it's ok then).
Still not ok
remove the quilty package with MACHINE= <machine> bitbake -b <package.bb> -f -c clean
build again. Mostly it's ok then.

Well, don't delete sources folder (sources can be reused without problems). Move folder to other place before deleting the whole openpli-oe-core directory and move it back after cloning.
That's right and the reason why I explained in http://users.telenet...npliubuntu.html manual . To set sources outsite off openpli-oe-core . And how to adapt site.conf to point to the sources folder .
