Sometimes when I put my box in standby over night I find it locked (need to cut power) the next morning.
It's not that often, maybe 3-4 times a month, but it's still annoying.

When it happens I can hear the HDD still spinning, and the heat tells me it's been spinning all night.

I'm using
WD green 750GB with 512byte sectors.
PLi Jun 11 2011 - but have had same problem with all earlier versions that I have kept for more than a few days.

Anyone having similar problems or solutions for it?

Do you have all kinds of plugins installed? Or is your box quite "clean"?
I had older images (like you have now) running without any problems.

Is it deepstandby mode? If yes, it's known and rare problem (heat, HDD spinning, no reaction on remote) and already discussed here half year ago or so without clear solution. It seems to me the problem is in a hardware. I've asked Vu about it but without answer. AFAIK it's depends on some board revision. I've tried all various and clean images without success. 1-2 times in a month it's happens. So, at night, my box always in standby now.

I was suspecting a answer like this, and I'm no trying to be a wiseguy, but I've had this problem as long as I remember, and it haven't helped updating earlier.

I'll update later today, but most likely I won't see if it helped before I've used it for a week or two, and that's why I would rather report it here instead of updating my box endlessly.

I usually updates my box whenever there is new drivers or when I have problems of some sort. But this lock in standby seems to come back nomather what version I'm running. Biggest problem now is that my wife is pregnant and have trouble reaching down to restart the box....

I'm not using too many Plugins, but it's been a few since PLi2.0 was installled. Not quite sure which plugins came with the image.

PictureViewer
Webcamviewer
EPGImport
EPGRefresh
Webinterface
PicturePlayer
Mediascanner
Audio Sync Setup
Password Changer
PTS - currently disabled since it didn't work properly with a Transcend 16GB usb

Could be more if it's a plugin that normaly doesn't come up on the plugin-list.

Well, that "fixed" it for me. I'm never using deepstandby, only standby. But my box is always in deepstandby when it's locked. Your post made me check my plugins, and EPGRefresh has (had) shutdown after EPG refresh enabled.

Sorry about making a new thread for an old problem, found it now using the right keywords.

Guess I should try using the warranty then.

Couldn't it be a problem in EPGRefresh, if I read your post right?

Could be, but plenty of people are using EPGRefresh and as far as I've understood from the previous posts there's not so many having their box locked like this.

I've disabled deepstandby after refresh, but will keep using the plugin too see if the problem is gone.

Cheers

I have no EPGRefresh and never used it. So the problem is only in deepstandby mode on some "lucky" boxes. I have rev. 1.3 board, white remote.
