Hallo,

ich habe mir nun - nach einigen anderen Versuchen - eine ET9000 bestellt, welch denn morgen kommen soll.

Da ich einiges schon gelesen habe, würde ich die HDD (750 GB) gerne wie folgt partitionieren:
* SWAP Partition (max. 1GB sollten reichen)
* EXT2 Partition für TimeShift (30 GB; sollte für 3 Stunden HD TS reichen)
* EXT3 Partition für den Rest (Aufnahmen, etc.)

Die Partitionierung würde ich gerne direkt im Receiver durchführen.
Geht das?

Ist obige Partitionierung sinnvoll?

Wenn nein - kann ich die Partitionen im Receiver entsprechend formatieren?

Die HDD am Mac zu partitionieren kostet mich zwar einige Zeit, ist aber nicht unmöglich.

Für Hilfe wäre ich dankbar.

swap und partitionieren ist nicht neutig
sinds einige tagen kunnen sie die ET9000 in EXT4 formatieren (via das ET Menu)

on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...

As I understood I can format the HDD with EXT4. EXT4 seems to be secure like EXT3 and is fast enough for TS.

yes that's correct...
you can also try to use a USB stick for timeshift

on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...

One more question.
Which image I should use for the first flash?
As I have read I have to install some extensions to have the full remote control support:
* enigma2-plugin-extensions-et9000-buttonsReneW_1.0.ipk
and or
* enigma2-plugin-extensions-et9000-multiquickbutton_r2.7.9_mipsel.ipk

Is this correct?

use the OpenPli Beta ET9000 image and flash via a USB stick
see the left download menu and your installation guide

btw. never used these plugins for my normal usage of the box

on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...

umount /dev/sda1
fdisk /dev/sda

Just use

menu - settings - system - harddisk - initialize

It will partition and format your harddisk with optimal settings for recordings and such.
And you can just keep using the box while it's doing that.
