Percentages must be located between channel name and event name and must not be connected with the progress bar at all.

oh ... it will be ugly ... ;)

Well, not to me.
I prefer to have as many channels as possible when channel list pops up.

Everything can be done in theory... but please note it is a channel list and doing it this way there are less channels on a lost and I suggest not practically anymore....

After last progressbar mods I made new patch.
Maybe it needs someone.

It tested now only by me and few my fellows, but at first look works OK in booth 2.1 and 3.0.

I wouldn't like "holy war" about percentage at forum. Please just use if who needs.

IMHO...
Show event-progress in channel selection:
- progress-bar left
- progress-bar right
-percent(name channel % event)
-no

@bigroma

I don't like the shift alignment as this is really ugly... I suggest we simply could enable/disable the % by giving the size a size and when this is 0 it is disabled (the skin can decide the size then).... and when the location = 0 the percentage will go to the left progressbar and when the location (xpos) has a value it is at the right (just like this is done for the progress bar)... then we also do not need to swig (but I understand it is tricky)...

I suggest the shift alignment is to make columns and put the percentages between channel name and event description. I think this is ugly and is a wast of room used on the screen.... Sorry... And it is ugly... look at the line of Sky Supercalcia HD... that does not fit....

But please be patient..... over the weekend I do not have much time for this... and before I start to make code I want to specify everything...

The two lines idea (put the event info on another row) looks also nice... Possibly EMC might soon be not required anymore (this week I also modified the standard graphmultiEPG)....

But still I'm thinking that putting the remaining time in minutes instead of the % is even a far more better idea then presenting percentages....??????

@littlesat

I made this patch about two years ago. I tried write lot flexible struct for skinmakers, you know %%'s and aligment not my idea :) I fought for total flexiblity and try save compatibility with unmodded skins, how I know domica 9a(I made patch for this project) fully compatible with unmodded and modded skins since two years.

I'm only explaining my patch, not teach you how you must modify OpenPLI :)
My opinion - more flexebility, but soft must be stable, i understand this. All option which i add selectable, if you want try add it for few weeks and will collect feeadback, IMHO it's simplest then any disputes. I repeat it's only my opinion

You do not have to defend.... I'm very happy that you give a patch....!!! And indeed to keep it compatible with unmodded skins is always something that make it difficult...

I'm thinking about putting percentages or possible the resttime in minutes within the progressbar element itself....

It isn't diifficult add code to make all features selectable, but i think very difficulte make good tune conception. Each feature must good present and selecting in most skins and must have pleasure combination for view. I think features must add not in one moment - skinmakers must have time for adopt skins for features.

Features are nothing, skin is all :)

... without features no skin.... BUT the way how E2 is build the skin is somehow married to the features.... ;)
But to add this stuff nothing is needed to be change in skins....

i mean resttime in minutes within the progressbar element itself (my opinion),
but if it stays like it is, i have also no problem at all with it

Guys my strictly personal opinion is to keep things simple.
Alignment looks nice but truly it is a waist of space.
Even a selection between progressbar or percentage would be sufficient. (to my eyes at least) :)
My regards.

p.s. It is really easy for the users to brainstorm, but it is the coders that have to do the hard work. So if with minimum effort we can have the desired outcome, it is the best scenario. And the desired outcome is to have the percentage info.If it is going to be left, right or between it is a minor discussion.

my 2ct:

I don't see the point of a percentage. It's useless unless you know when the programme started, and then you still have to do your calculations. And for a percentage the current progressbar is better, it gives you a much better view on the status of the programme (quicker for your brain to process).

A duration in minutes is a lot more useful.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
