I can create the first 5 things within the next few days, but if someone else wants to create one of this, let me know.

Ok Homey the TODO list is good.
But this is not a race so please we have to make one pint at time and commit it and test not all togheter.
We have to think howto do the things because we don't want to make another webif like the original but use new ideas.
Like for example i am working to the idea of use an OSD in the "current" tab page.

Ok i worked at "current" page tab.
I had the idea to make a porting of a typical E2 OSD skin into OpenWebIf.
It seems to me that the result is nice and we have now a nice "current" page.

For the OSD i used the graphics of the famous Army Gradient skin porting all the code in Html.
But i made OSD skinnable so everyone have a little known of Html can make its own OSD.
To change OSD is easy.
All the OSD html code is in the file: controllers/views/ajax/current.html
All the OSD pixmaps are in the folder: public/images/osd

Note: I used Osd pixmaps directly from a box skin so the pixmaps are in low resolution.
I will ask to my graphics to make an Osd with pixmaps in true colors.
So the current page is only a draft.
Just to know if you think it is nice.

^^^ Great!
So in a future, if someone make a skin, then you also make the gui-look for openwebif?

I hope the snr is not all the time in %. Because i prefer in DB(Decibel). I mean 4 example 100% of what?

Dreambox Dm8000 with all hardware addons donated to OpenPli. No interests anymore in policy of CanalDigitaal / M7 group and now-a-days channel encryption (like CI+ / HD+).

Good luck Enigma2 / OpenPli, it was fun with Sky Movies and so on, collected a nice collection of movies. Now back to basic boring lineair TV with KPN iTV (VDSL2 pair bonding 219 / 63 Mbps).

The VDSL pair bonding is excellent for... torrents to NAS in higher quality then HDTV (Like Dolby-TrueHD or DTS-Master-Audio soundquality ) :D

I would leave the skin out... or at least make it configurable.

I like it. I don't give a damn that its not the same as the skin used in de gui of the box.
Perhaps in a future version the webif looks for a specific userskin that has to be delivered by the skinauthor of the skingui.
If its not there default to this one.

@Littlesat: you obvisiously don't use the openwebinterface, it is indeed the same skin as baccicosat uses on his box.
I have magic EHD skin and the shown skin in current is the same as the picture posted above. No clone of the box skin the user uses in de gui of enigma2.

use attached Patch to avoid crashing when Webbserver wants to bind on a Port already in use.

Applyed thanks.

Ps. I have added the Epg Search.
Please test.

Well i've tested the epg search and it works just fine.
But i have a suggestion ,is it possible to add sat position on the different tabs, some search's deliver the same program on different sat's and i think it's come in handy when you see the sat position.
And maby, when you type a search you have to click on the search button (what comes naturally) but maby it's also possible to hit the enter button on your keyboard.

Thanks

That would be nice, but maybe i would suggest the bouquet name in the search results For example when you see the same programme at the results but you put a timer at the wrong channel which you don't have any subscription on the record will be black, so the choice is better to take the one with the name Favourites.

Thanks for the great plugin.

I explained that the WebIf OSD is full html code.
Everyone can change.

To grab skin from the box is not a good idea and really slow.
So i wrote the OSD in html.

Hi folks.

I'm not a developer and I cannot help you but I wish to suggest you a feature in new OpenWebIf: access to local terminal (telnet/ssh) using web interface.

This can be useful if anyone needs to access to a remote STB but is not available a "pure" telnet/ssh client or the connection goes through a HTTP proxy server (like in my company: when I'm @ office I can use only HTTP connection) or anything else.
STB: Clarke Tech ET9100
Mass storage: internal SATA-II HDD 1TB WD10EACS GreenPower 5400rpm
Mass storage: external USB pen drive 2GB
Firmware: OpenPLi kernel 3.x.x
Tuner A: AVL2108 (DVB-S2) HotBird 13E
Tuner B: AVL2108 (DVB-S2) HotBird 13E
Tuner C: AverMedia A867 (DVB-T HD) (AF9035 + MXL5007T)
TV: plasma PANASONIC GT30 fullHD
Audio: PCM through HDMI (no Dolby decoder)

Hi.. i haven't read this post for a while... and you write a lot! :)

@homey
good to see you here and partecipate to this project

About cheetah templates i think they are really great! As you saw they are a lot of faster than the original web if. And they are reach of features, you can do really many things inside your templates.
If you haven't yet tested it. With cheetah compiler the .tmpl code will be directly translated in python code. At the end, when we compile it, we can enjoy a great speed up in performance.

But you're right. When we play with javascript the JSON is like a must. It's faster than XML in both server and client side.

I just committed some code to let you to use json from javascript: https://github.com/E.../commits/master

Now every xml webapi (that i'm still implementing on the line of original web if) could be generate a json output using http://boxip/api/ instead of http://boxip/web/

An example:

http://172.16.1.101:8088/web/vol

<e2volume>
<e2result>True</e2result>
<e2resulttext>Status</e2resulttext>
<e2current>0</e2current>
<e2ismuted>True</e2ismuted>
</e2volume>

http://172.16.1.101:8088/api/vol

{"current": 0, "message": "Status", "result": true, "ismute": true}

About the streaming i thought a little about that... and i can't see many solutions
- HTML5
HTML5 finally introduce the capability to stream a video from your HTML code. Great! But HTML5 say only how to use the "<video /> tag". Doesn't speak about the content (mean as formats and codecs). So every browser is different. Someone use H264, someone use VP8. Someone can read a .ts, someone need an .avi or similar and need to know the file size before. Someone need a small playlist with a series of .ts links (like ios and android honeycomb). Really a mess.
On our stb we must use the video with original codec. Because the CPU doesn't permit us to reencode the video. Probabilly we can only change the format to the video.. but with a large usage of resources

- FLASH
As i can read on the web it work only with H264. If we are lucky we can only play some HD stream.. but what we can do with an SD MPEG2 stream?
And flash will not work on many mobile devices.

- VLC PLUGIN
This seem to be the only solution.
Sincerly i don't like it. You need to install a plugin. It won't work on mobile devices. And it work only with some browser/platform combinations.

Any idea? :)
