As already said I only get it to work in Oplayer by changing the URL to

http://et9000:8001/1:0:1:6D66:437:1:C00000:0:0:0:

So I don't use the m3u file and the hex code (%3A) for the colon. Btw, using Safari browser on the iPad with the above URL it doesn't work.

The point is, that both URL are 'correct' in terms of common standards but streaming only works when using non-encoded variant.

I think openwebif should be fixed to follow common standard but i don't know where to put my fingers in... Do you have an idea?

As far as I understand, from the discussion in this same thread on page 17 onwards, if you invoke

http://boxname:8001/service

you are calling straight into the enigma2 streaming interface, with no involvement whatsoever of the webif, which doesn't listen on that port (at least, this is what I get from the code...).

well rincewind I have to admit its not the webinterface which handles the streaming on port 8001.
i misleadingly thought that because i searched for '8001' on dreambox and found that string only in openwebif dirs :-)
however i just removed the webinterface plugin and saw that the box just continues to listen on port 8001. additionally the streaming behaviour was the same with above URL:

(on linux with firefox)
not working (browser freeze) with encoded URL
working with non-encoded URL

So this leads to the conclusion that something in the streaming interface of enigma2 should behave better when dealing with base64 encoded URLs. Do you agree with me? Should I post this in another forum section since this seems not realted to openwbif?

According to RFC3986, the path in this URL should not have to be encoded, so the service name with :
should be OK. Also, this RFC stresses the fact that you should not encode URLs that do not need to be
encoded, as an encoded URL is different from a not encoded URL. Problem is of course that nobody
reads these RFCs and as : is a reserved character in the host part of the URL, most programmers
encode it to be 'safe'. PieterG chose the only possible solution: URL decode all requests, to save
OpenPli from programmers playing it 'safe'. Thanks for the compromise.

I have 2 request for the add timer option in openwebif:
- In the old webinterface it was possible to add multiple tags. This was very handy, can this be made possible in OpenWebif too?
- In the select channel field all channels are lined up (all bouquets under each other), is it possible to first choose the bouquet and then the channel?

Hi,

Do you plan to add the tuner configuration menu into the Openwebif Settings menu?

I am currently remotely install a STB and point out that this option is missing.
I just push my channel list into it but I have no other way than using the Screen Grab + virtual remote control to configure the DiseqC option, so it would be handy to have it directly in the Openwebif. Moreover this can also be used to check the current settings remotely.

I don't know if I will be off topic or not, but Skaman and bacicciosat I tried to contact you by email to find out how to run OpenWebif on a different image (Gecko) than OpenPLi?
There's no ready IPK at your GitHub and I don't know what to do with the downloadable ZIP in my (genuine) DM8000 HD.

Also I am struggling with those python packages (especially cheetah) installation always getting

Any advice or a way to compile a custom IPK would be appreciated!

That's why I was wondering if this plugin can work in a different image than openPLI and why there's no IPK available to download at https://github.com/E...ugin-OpenWebif/?

Two answers at once: It can be compiled for any image, not just OpenPLi, but the image builder (the one who turns the OpenEmbedded recipes into code) has to do it. Github does not "build" anything, it only provides the source code. If you can't get the image builder to do it for you (the recipe that will also cause those python packages to appear in the feed is also on github) you may have to do it yourself.

Using binaries from one image on other images is - in general - not a good idea, they're likely to be linked to different versions of various libraries.

Just saw at Github that there is a new update of OpenWebIf: EPG Now+Next. Is there anybody who can say what is the difference? EPG will now refresh itself at OWIF, so we will have updated information always?
