and which client do I need for my STB et9000 (mediaplyer??)
this is my first time using vlc since Enigma1 !!

any hints?

On PC - same setting as for E1, on box VLC Video Player

1) on PC install last VLC player and there in file .host enable IP of your Boxes
2) VLC Video Player create VLC server
3) on PC run VLC with line( create link on area with target):

"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --extraintf=http

Yes its so easy my mistake same for mac vlc need activate webinterface
Its works fast !!!
By can I use hight bitrates? And so on

Its start freeze when increase the bitrate and i work with 1080 mode !!
But somehow cant get subtitle !! At vlc setting its activated !!

I never tried it for HD.

About subtitles and some repairs ... You can try my repairs and additions.

well , I can't transcode the subtitle , maybe this limitation of osx version or my fault !
all settings should be OK !

Mac OSX lion 64bit ! also VLC64bit

Hi ajeeb!

Can you use dreambox vlc plugin to access and watch videos on your mac?, I`m on lion too, but never had success with it. a little help would be appreciated.

For anything else, i just use "IDreamX", it`s a wonderful app packed with many useful features.

Yes its works need open vlc for mac then at menu
then add interface > web interface that what I did and its map 8080 for access
But test result for performance is so bad
I have 100mb lan and macpro very powerfull computer
and cant get works with HD contects and freeze but standart video no problem and @ims do some impovements but does not affect hd

I can tell u much better to play a movie localy inside box storage
But they fix somes problems with subtitle sometimes disappear and sometimes de-sync !!!

Thanks ajeeb and ims for the useful feedback, it`s already taken up too much of my time trying to sort that Vlc-thing out, but down the drain!!!

I did some "googling" but nothing comes close to that simple setup laid out above by ims for Windows, but for Macs, it`s quite a different story and still a mystery to me.
