Do you all have up-to-date versions of OpenPLi installed?

If teletext can be used, I have some examples for you to test :
On 0.8º West we have :
Canal + Action in teletext is 599

This channel only has teletext subs (according to sound->subtitles button)?

On 4.8º East :
TV1000 Drama in teletext is 692

Here the same, only teletext subs.

Can you please give an example of a channel that has the problem?

Again.... I verified it here and no issues at all..... As I cannot verify the issue I cannot solve it... Here with Danish, Norwegain, Swedish and Finish it is working as charm on the Canal+ and TV1000 channels.... (I cannot get picture but I least I see the X at the subtitle selected...). And indeed as Erik reported... I do not see any DVB subtitles available on all of those channels. Probably someone thinks it are DVB-subtitles as the TXT-subtitles in PLi are good looking -as- DVB subtitles (or even better)...

I can answer on behalf of 2 users: I am using openaaf 23.12 on my Vu+ Duo and PiratDk is using openaaf 23.12 on his 800 and the openaaf automatic language / subtitle settings menu is the very same as found in OpenPLi images.

Earlier i had OpenPLi installed too for testing and had to choose subtitles manually on multiple channels cos i got no subtitles at all (until i manually chose them).
So the teletext subs on Canal Digital 1W & Viasat 4.8E do not get automatically chosen at all, they have to be manually picked up, channel by channel.

Aaaaahhhhh!!!! Use plain PLi and you do not have this issue. Complaint at AAF... I suggest they did not have/use/adapt the required cpp code needed in the E2 binary that is required...

What was the PLi you tested.... I suggested the OpenPli 1.0 - that stil hasn't the autolanguage selection...

All channels were CanalDigital and VIasat send the language code with the subtitles should be selected automatically.... only channels were the language code is not included could not be selected automatically ofcourse. There you need to do it manually!!! That is something that cannot be fixt... I did not find any channels there that does not have language codes - so all should be find automatically with the advised settings (with OpenPli2.1)....

PiratDK is not allowed to post a reply before 28.12 by the forum software.

Now he is.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

I have the same issue as some others here it seems. I have set the following language preference sequence: Norwegian, Danish, English
(see attached screenshot)

On channels where they transmit all these services (example: Disney Channel, Disney XD etc on 0.8W and 4.8E) it will always pick Danish. There seem to be something wrong with the Norwegian language selection. Any ideas or suggestions on how to dig up more troubleshooting information? There are no updates available for the software. I'm running openpli 2.0 dm800.

I discovered there are different norwegian languages... Probably I have to put them all on the list for norwegian...

nor no Norwegian
nno Norwegian (Nynorsk)

Probably you can add nno to the UsageConfig.py and check again for me...

I will test plain PLi as soon as I finish working tonight.
If this will solve it, I will blame Raitsa for all errors, since he told me to use OpenAAF :)
Again THANKS for trying to help us out.
Great service

Check the specs here, it sort of combines the best of OpenPLi & ViX:

Hey guys, your automatic language / subtitle settings are pretty near perfect, but I would like to see an option to choose teletext subtitles as the first choice, now it tries to pick dvb subtitles even if they are not chosen and disregards available (finnish) teletext subtitles.

And this results me "having to" manually choose (finnish) teletext subtitles on multiple channels from Viasat 4.8e & Canal Digital 1w packages.
And naturally, I am not the only one being affected by this. ;)

Any way to improve this?

Btw: Can you say me which skin that is? Looks like a black version of the vuplus skin..?

Ok, I now tested with swedish as first language, and now it works great.
So it is your danish settings which are buggy.
Can that be fixed somehow ?

I tried it here... and found no issue at all... the only thing I can suggest is that something is in your settings that fources the DVB-graphical subtitles.... that is even not available and can only be available when it is already selected by your own settings.... As the selected subtitle by the service is always added to the subtitle list (even when it is not available....).

First I would try different not corrupted settings and verify if that DVB subtitle is gone.. .It should not be there!!!

I tried it with all four scandinavian languages....!!!

Well.....
I find it very strange that it is working great with swedish language, and not with danish language.
But I will keep testing.
