No I have no plans to support these receivers, I don't know them and therefore don't know if they are compatible with the backupsuite, maybe I can take a look at it to make a one time version but therefore I need at least to start the results of the following commands

cat /proc/mtd
cat /proc/stb/info/boxtype
and
df -h

Furthermore I need the structure/filenames of the standard image to flash, so the directory structure like for the vu+ solo2 this is /vuplus/solo2/... and all filenames in use for the image to flash, e.g. root_cfe_auto.bin, kernel_cfe_auto.bin or whatever name

I searched for an image to look at but had to register on different boards but I didn't want to.

Again I'm willing to look at it but I promise nothing and it will not be for full support.

Here is a 1.0 beta version, for the version from which you provided the info. I don't know the other model and the differences, therefore I need more info.

Please try this version if it back-ups and more important if it will restore and don't forget: as always warranty until installed :P

Could you also supply the content of the directory /proc/stb/info with the command

ls /proc/stb/info

and if possible for every file in that directory the content with the command

cat /proc/stb/info/<filename>

For which model did you supply the info? For the LX1 or LX2?

I also looking for the information of the other model, could you supply that?

I removed the 1.0 beta version for the xpeed from post 203 because of the lack on feedback so I have no idea if it worked, better safe than sorry.

Ah ok Pedro. I thought it was for all enigma2 boxes.

I had an image that worked really well with your plug in on gigablue boxes. It had back-up suite Version 11.6 for OpenPli 3.0 15-01-2013 Pedro_Newbie (Extensions for Gigablue by SCP).

I dont have that image anymore and i can find this version of your software anywhere... :( Can you please help me? do you know where i can download that version? This plug in is really handy, and i really want it on my gigablue.

Thanks Pedro.

For Openpli 3.0 or later

Here's the latest version of the plugin BackupSuite, suitable for Openpli 3.0 or later or compatible image

The BackupSuite is capable of making full back-ups of a running system. The back-up contains all files and settings as they are on the system at the moment of making the back-up.
In case of emergency or any other mishap you are capable of restoring your system in a matter of a few minutes (< 5 ).

The BackupSuite can back-up:
Xtrend models ET4x00, ET5x00, ET6x00, ET8000, ET9x00 and ET10000;
VU+ models Duo, Duo2, Solo, Solo2, Ultimo and Uno;
MK-Digital / MaxDigital / XPert XP1000 and Octagon SF8 XP1000.

After installation* you will find 2 entries in the Menu under Menu -> Plugins
Fullback-up to USB and
Fullback-up to HDD/USB
*Installation has to be done with a working internet connection to be able to fetch the required package mtd-utils from the feed)

Fullback-up to USB
This option makes a back-up directly to an USB-flashdrive, however there is one condition that has to be fulfilled and that's there MUST be a file on the USB-flashdrive with the name backupstick or backupstick.txt or whatever name containing the word backupstick. So a file with the name: hands_off_this_is_my_backupstick.txt is also valid! It doesn't matter if UPPER- or lower-case letters are used or even a mix of those 2.
This back-up will be written on 2 places, one in the folder representing the modelnumber e.g. ET9x00 and in a folder with the name fullbackup_et9x00, this is your archive of all back-ups made directly to this USB-flashdrive.

Fullback-up to HDD/USB
This option does the same as above except that it is on a harddrive (or NAS) and there is no need for a file with the name backupstick.
This option does provide an extra option namely copy the made back-up directly from HDD to an USB-flashdrive. If you place a valid USB-stick, as mentioned above, before or during the back-up process then the made back-up will also be copied to this drive at the end of the process.

The supported languages are at the moment: English (default), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, Slovak, Spanish and Turkish.

Here's a screenshot (edited) of the different steps of the Fullback-up to HDD/USB process with a valid USB-stick inserted on a VU+ Solo2
2vnjvj7.png
Again for Openpli 3.0 or later or Openpli based/compatible images

Changelog
Changed in version 15.2
- Reworked some code to automatic detect on which mtd the kernel is. This makes it a bit easier to add more models in the future.
- Moved some code to another place to make it more readable

Changed in version 15.1
- Minor code change in representation used time

Changed in version 15.0
- Changed the time measuring a bit because the newer kernels handles this a bit different (on the ET10000)
- Added some translated German lines (free space check in USB version)

Changed in version 14.9
- When the USB only version is started there will be checked if the intended USB stick has enough free space to build the back-up. If there is less space then 4 times the size of rootfs the program will display a warning and the program will be aborted. The program needs this space to write temporary files for the different stages in the process
- Corrected the Russian language pack

Changed in version 14.8
- Added support for the new ET8000 and ET10000
- Disabled the warnings about a too big image for the new models ET8000 and ET10000 (until proven incorrect)
- Some minor code changes to accommodate the new models

Within a couple of days there will be released a new version which makes it very easy to add new brands and models without too much hassle and changing the code in the main program backupsuite.sh.
The needed parameters will be added in a lookup table which is read by the main code.
This version still needs some final testing but the first impression is that it works without problems

In this version there a big changes in the code! The appearance however is not changed or very little.

Changed in version 16.0
Made the application more universal and easier to maintain for future models.
Now all supported brands/models are placed in a matrix (lookuptable.txt) with their parameters needed to make a back-up
Now all what has to be done to support a new brand/model is enter the specifics into the lookuptable.txt, an example is show hereunder.
I moved the version (after some internal betaversions) to 16.0 because of the big changes in the code.
All is tested and should work fine
Example matrix:

Not with the backupsuite, but with Betacentauri's OFGWRITE you can flash online a new image, the tool can be found HERE
