A dev is a developer here from openpli.

 

I think your UBIFS is corrupt and gives some reading errors, why and how to solve it I haven't got a clue except a fresh install/flash could solve the problem.

I'm just curious could you try to copy the offending file to /tmp with the command (just copy and paste this in telnet)

cp -R "/usr/lib/gstreamer/gstreamer-0.10/libgstffmepg.so" "/tmp"

There's a little typo. Try this:

cp /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstffmpeg.so /tmp

I also guess that there's a bad block which is not marked as bad block. Flashing new image should fix that (I guess)...

reboot,

Changed in version 16.5
Adjusted some parameters in the lookuptable.txt (only VU+ models)

 

(removed -F option for Solo2 and Duo2 in the MKUBIFS_ARGS, used correct maximum logical erase block count for VU Ultimo)

pedro - I dont know whats wrong but i still cant get your backup tool to work on my vu solo.  Ive tried the latest version 16.5 and the backup seems to work without errors but when you restore it all i get is black screen.   Can you help?

not sure what changes have happened of late, as I have only made a couple of BU with backupsuite recently.

 

Problem that I have now, is double directories on my usb (media/usb)

 

2 x xp1000 (new path= .media/usb/xp1000/xp1000/ *xp1000 files)

 

&

 

2x fullbackup_xp1000 (new path= /media/usb/fullbackup_xp1000/fullbackup_xp1000/"backup date)

Anything you can get me to try at all?? Ive been away on holiday so havent been able to come back to you sooner.  The original PLI images work from openpli.org and your tool says the backup has been created sucessfully but after you restore all you get is a black screen.  I have a VU solo2 and your tool works perfectly for this.  Ive tried a VIX image too and still does the same so i know its gotta be something wrong with ya tool as ive used your tool for lots of other recievers without any issues.  Please can you try to help me thanks

Does your kernel partition has bad blocks? I guess you can find it out with
mtdinfo -a /dev/mtdx
where x is the kernel partition. If you don't know which partition is the kernel partition then do
cat /proc/mtd

Nope it doesnt have bad block and ive tried this on several units of the vu solo that i have here.  Like i said the backup works fine but the restore is black screen! However what ive noticed is that if i replace kernel_cfe_auto.bin that pedros tool creates with the one from the official openpli.org image and reflash then the solo will boot up but its crashing when i use my apps.  So im thinking pedros tool is creating a corrupt kernel_cfe_auto.bin file.

 

Anychance you can help?

How big is the kernel_cfe_auto.bin? So

ls -la kernel_cfe_auto.bin

 

Please rename it to

kernel_cfe_auto.bin.gz

and try to unpack it.

gunzip kernel_cfe_auto.bin.gz

 

Are any errors shown?

Is it a genuine VU?
