Take it easy, guys, no big deal, even DMM were taking (in more ways than one!!!) from others (Open Source and so much more!), left, right and centre and then, just like Mierdoch, the biggest pirate of them all, suddenly they were the greatest anti-pirates, copyright protectors and whatnot...

It's a wee bit more complex than black-white stuff of that sort, I think... No need to be so... "vigilant" and... ermmm... rigid... ;) :D

<span style='font-family: comic sans ms,cursive'>"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-incurred immaturity. Immaturity is the inability to use one's own understanding without the guidance of another. This is not the problem, as long as licenses are not violated.

The point here is not related to code, it related to brand name and trademark. We are only only ones that are allowed to use the name "OpenPLi", and we don't make an image for a SunRay.

So the image used as-such is illegal, and not supported here. Period.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Are we now answering/supporting clones as well?!? I thought the house-rules are were clear on this...

Don't jump to conclusions while I try to discover what the problem was since I don't have a crystal ball. Did you see any support to a clone in my previous posting? Please let the moderating to the moderators.

Made some alterations in the way a back-up is made: if a backup is made onto the harddisk there is no longer a flashable copy made in the root of the harddisk.

The backup is only stored in the folder "fullbackup_<type> etc.

If the backup is made onto an USB-stick then the copy is made in the root and a copy in the folder fullbackup_<type> etc.

I don't read PM -> if you have something to ask or to report, do it in the forum so others can benefit. I don't take freelance jobs.
Ik lees geen PM -> als je iets te vragen of te melden hebt, doe het op het forum, zodat anderen er ook wat aan hebben.

The Gigablue and Openmips are not supported.
You can try to make a backup, but you'll have to do some work yourself, see: http://forums.openpl...ndpost&p=499161

Ask the maintainer/builder of Openmips, they sure have something similar as the BackupSuite or even a modified BackupSuite.

Since today the Xsarius Fusion HD is supported, this is however not fully tested at the moment because of the lack of testing material. Fusion HD owners please feel free to test and report the outcome.

Owners (PLi developers?) of a Fusion HD SE could you report the outcome of the command

cat /proc/stb/info/hwmodel

Also removed the partial support for non supported receivers

Creating Fusion HD backup, flashing the backup via USB and ofgwrite (via backup suite) works without problems.

Hi Betacentauri, thanks for your testing and confirmation.
Do you have by any chance access to a Fusion HD Se?

Hi Pedro, I've tried to use BackupSuite on my VU+ Solo4K (with VTI image) but is isn't supported (yet). Do you think it will be the coming future? Or is it a problem because of the different cpu used, compared to former VU+ types and models?

Different cpu is no problem. But solo4k uses eMMC flash with ext4 filesystem. This is different to normal boxes and Pedro needs to adapt his plugin (@pedro: you can look into OpenATV E2 sources. There you can see how to create a backup).

It certainly will be supported in the near future, I only have to find the time for it but this weekend I will look into it.

Thanks for the hint, I will certainly have a look at it, not sure if it has to be a separate plugin or if I can blend it in in the current BackupSuite (without too many if model = solo4k then....)

Do you have by any chance a link to the part in github?
