Hi,
it would be nice to provide in this thread always the latest translation files of the GUI to be used in the images.

Find attached the german translation file.

EDIT: We, as in the OpenPLi team, are still looking for volunteers to help us with the translation!

            Some detailed additional information for our future volunteers. ;)

It would be even nicer that moderators would open new stick thread with title "Translations for Enigma 2" - or someting like that. Users could post their improved translations in this new thread. Everything would be in one place.
Translations are now scattered across this board and hard to find.

Yes. I think that would be a very good idea, because there are now several different translations floating around.

Hello everybody.
Using source from git here, I corrected and added many strings to the Greek po.
I give respect to the person who started the translation (sorry, I don't know who is he), but I had to correct many mistakes and add a lot of strings there.
As far as I can check, most part of the GUI is now translated. For greek users of OpenPli, please report any missing strings.

Greetings from Greece...

dimfill, some text need change to better greek translation. For example, remote control should be "Τηλεχειριστήριο" and not "Τηλεκοντρόλ". Another small error you missed is the Fri => "Παρ." (loose the dot).

Yoiu could get in contact with Mc_Elliot to sync your translations since he has done really good work in his VME translation.

Good work!

Well, you are right about some of the translation. I can't really understand how I missed those two examples that you stated (probably there are a lot more...)!
Though, it is something that I already had figured out and planned for the next update among with complete translation of all 2500+ strings.

Mc_Elliot's translation is a global translation with more than 4000 of 5000 (if I remember well) strings, concerning most of enigma2 images and not only OpenPli. Many OpenPli-specific strings are missing there. There was no reason to check it, as - nevertheless - I had to add them myself to the original po too. I didn't even touched it, as I didn't want to benefit from some others work.

My main goal was to give an OpenPli specific translation, for OpenPli to be provided with - reasonably - good greek translation right "from the box"...
In any case, I contacted Mc_Elliot in another forum and he stated that he is preparing something for OpenPli. Furthermore, and concerning that I respect his work, there is no reason for me to continue the above po that I attached. I am sure he will do a good job...

Two people are always better than one. That's why I suggested you two cooperate for the best tranlsation for the best image, OpenPLI!

Your work is already good, it's should be imported in git.

Please use tar, gz, 7z or zip, my (ubuntu) system doesn't know what to do with rar files. (And I don't feel like adding it, so don't shower me with links on that...)

Recently OpenPli supports multi plural strings for translations.For details how to do that see:

http://www.gnu.org/s...ng-plural-forms

_("some string") is for normal translations. ngettext("%d singular string", "%d plural string", n) is for multi plural translations.

.po files need a plural function definition in the header. For simple languages like dutch, german english etc this one is fine:

"Plural-Forms: nplurals=2; plural=(n != 1);\n"

For multi plural languages for example

"Plural-Forms: nplurals=3; plural=(n == 1 ? 0 : N >=2 && N <=5 ? 1 : 2);\n"

messages then look like (in case of 3 plural forms:

msgid "%d second"
msgid_plural "%d seconds"
msgstr[0] "%d single second"
msgstr[1] "%d 2 to 5 seconds"
msgstr[2] "%d 0 or more than 5 seconds"
