Hi OpenPLi staff!

I've just finished to vastly revise and complete the OpenPLi italian translation:
enigma2.po

 

 

The approach of my work has been to achieve a good technical accuracy in the Italian translation, and a terminology consistency throughout the whole user interface's screens and menus, along with a "professional" look of the menu/setting lists.

I've also completed the missing translations and added many new items not yet included in the current Italian enigma2.po file.

Moreover I've also carried out the translations of a couple of plugins (see below), and possibly will add others in the future.

I tested these new Italian translations on my Vu+ Solo4K running the latest OpenPLi image with one of the 1080 pre-installed skins: "PLi-FullNightHD"

 

For this job I've actually benefited from having worked in the past as a professional technical English-to-Italian translator for some publishers...

 

Unfortunately, as always, some inaccuracy, error or omission might still be present in the translations, so please feel free to let me know how to correct these possible issues.

I attach here also the compiled Italian enigma2.mo translation file that can be directly copied to a recent running OpenPLi image using the following method (or similar):

telnet into the receiver
issue telnet command: init 4
Then go to:
/usr/share/enigma2/po/it/LC_MESSAGES/
using an ftp client or file browser
save the current enigma2.mo file for safety
copy the new enigma2.mo file to the receiver (overwrite the old one)
(optional) set new file permissions to 644
issue telnet command: init 3
Done!

I've created also the missing Italian translation file for the EPGImport (XMLTVimport) extension:
EPGImport.po

I attach here also the compiled EPGImport.mo Italian translation file that can be directly copied to a recent running OpenPLi image:

/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/EPGImport/locale/
create the new subfolder: it
enter this new folder
create the new subfolder: LC_MESSAGES
enter this new folder
copy the new EPGImport.mo file to the receiver
(optional) set new file permissions to 644
issue telnet command: init 3
Done!
