Hi, I have a question about the original English pot file.

Sometimes in the English strings I've found a typing error, and in very rare case a grammar error.

What should I do in these cases?

Report them on forum, this needs to be fixed in the source code then we can generate a new .pot file with the correction for the translators.

Another option for users of the English language could be to "translate" within the en.po the incorrect items with the correct version...

This is a non-sense, it is the source code that needs to be corrected since the source code is in english.

The translation files exist to translate to other languages not to correct typo and mistakes in the source.

But if you correct the source code, which of course is the right way to do things, all the current translations will require an immediate update, otherwise all the modified strings will be shown in English.

No, we can also apply the correction in the current translation if we have the full string with the mistake and the corrected one we can perform a 'find & replace' in all the .po files to avoid rework for the translators.

This is just what I meant as the 'update' required for the current translations...

Hi,

Thanks every help is welcome!

You can download it from here:

https://raw.githubus...evelop/po/hu.po

Then a good tool to easily translate the po file is:

https://poedit.net/

Regards,

Should I translate all the lines, or if i done with for example: 200 lines I can upload it here? When the developers include the new translation to the openPLi system?

As soon as you post it here, or even better, as soon as you create a pull request on github.

Either way, make sure you select the correct branch to translate, and make sure the pull request is against the correct branch, or when you post, mention the branch.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Hi,

If the idea is to be able to test you translation you can test it yourself.

If you use poedit it will generate for you the .mo file,  rename the generated .mo file into enigma2.mo and place it here:  /usr/share/enigma2/po/hu/LC_MESSAGES

Restart your OpenPLi and you can test your translation.

Hi,

I did not know how to test the translation by myself, but this method is good. Good that I can test it after I have done with the translation. I am working on it... Thanks for the help. :)

That was a challenge, all description fields for tuner settings were added.

Pulled my Greek translation on github as usual!

Hi,

For french speaking using release 6.1 that cannot live with the string unstranslated:

- unzip the attached file
- copy the file enigma2.mo into /usr/share/enigma2/po/fr/LC_MESSAGES/

For developpers, the string was indeed already translated but still marked as to be verified so not displayed in Enigma2, I also include the fr.po in the zip file so feel free to push it into the release-6.1 branch.

Because the translation into german of

User - bouquets

into

Benutzerspezifische - Kanallisten (Bouquets)

is too long. The result is that the Bouquet name is not seen in the titel over the channellist

A better translation ist

Benutzer - Bouquet

That is short enough

Please change it
