Hello guys,

Had a similair problem and solution is so simple.

Go if you have openPLi  to applications download drivers and download usb/serial driver.

Than go back to your wireless settings. choose Web er other setting according to your router

fill in the password. safe settings. If you safed password already, change from web to other setting otherwise it wont safe for a strange reason.than go back and safe web or other setting according to router,,,you understand...Now reset lan and you see green light and it will work.

Good luck, Herman from Netherlands.(My setup.is:  OpenPli4, Vuduo and VuDuo2 and DM7020 pli2.1. with 4 discs and 4x4 lnb, disecq switch and rotor. And HD streaming to laptop and Mobile.)

I'm having trouble with my stock VU+ Zero 4K's Wi-Fi adapter not being recognized by the receiver. The adapter shows up as an RTL 8192CU, but it doesn't detect any wireless networks. Here's the relevant portion of my lsusb output:

Bus 002 Device 002: ID 067b:2571
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001

I appreciate any suggestions you might have for troubleshooting this issue.

Have you installed the driver? OpenPLi doesn't install anything by default that isn't required.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

On some boxes it is a kernel module, not an external module.

Try

opkg install kernel-module-rtl8192cu
opkg install firmware-rtl8192cu

wanted to also ask if thats all there is to get the WIFI stick working?  what of network or usb drivers?

It doesn't matter how you connect, the USB device needs to be plugged in, otherwise lsusb doesn't show it.

If that is the right driver for the device, yes. This is a network driver, and the USB driver framework is part of the linux kernel.

Looks like it is loading the drivers just fine. Doesn't "ifconfig" show you a wlan0 device now?
