Hello,
I have a qustion regarding the standard OpenPLi Movieplayer (the one under Video button, where I play recordings).
I have both .TS recordings and several .MP3 files transferred from the computer. After pressing Video button, I enter my list of recorded events, which I can scroll up and down.
And when I press OK on a .TS movie file, the film starts, the list of recordings disappears and I can normally pause (yellow button) and play (yellow or green).
However, when I want to play .MP3 files, I press OK and the list of recordings does not disappear. This means that I cannot normally pause and play using coloured buttons because they are reserved for some other functions.
Actually, I do not know how to pause and then continue playing an .MP3 file from the time where it was stopped.
Can somebody please give me a clue?

Doesn't anyone else use the OpenPLi player for mp3 from time to time?
Can somebody please confirm that it is not possible to pause and resume playing of MP3 files? Perhaps this is just my problem.

Hm, you're correct: pausing makes the playback jump to the start of the file. So "Pause/UnPause" is effectively "restart file from the beginning".

if you disable the 'play audio in the background' option in the context menu of the movielist, you should be able to pause, resume, wind, skip audio files just like any other media file.
When pause causes the timeline to fall to 0, this indicates that the hardware does not report correct timing info while the audio decoder is not running.
(except when 'play audio in the background' is enabled, in which case play/pause seems to stop the playback)

OK, will try that. But two days ago I learned from you that "play audio in background" is needed to continue playing with the next file, instead of having to activate every MP3 by hand.

yes, that seems to be the case.
The 'background' option uses the preview feature, with its sideeffects.

So in fact (combined with not supporting playlistst) decent playback of MP3's is not possible. Really a pity: that seems to be the only thing requiring some 3rd-party player.

if you consider being able to pause/resume a requirement for decent playback, you are right.

Thanks for the tip.
I disabled this option because at the moment pausing and resuming is more important than automatic playback of mp3 files one after another. :)

Well, yes, I would, wouldn't you?
Nothing fancy, just basic functionality, just as the other two items I mentioned. And again: a pity that only for those flaws a third-party plugin is still needed, whereas the rest of the player's capability's are cutting edge.

One more thing regarding the standard OpenPLi player (the one under VIDEO button with Dreambox 800se).
If you press VIDEO you get a list of recordings. And if there are so many recordings that they take the complete page, the last item is always repeated on the next page.
Is this intentional or just a small bug? Please note I am using the standard OpenPLi HD skin.

It is there in skin only, imho. I will see on it.

Done.

If you want not wait, when will be merged, you can change there in skin.xml in MovieSelection for "list" size from 506 to 510.

..... the last item is always repeated on the next page......

IMHO a nice feature.
This is the same on all lists that continue on the next page.

What all lists do you mean?
It is certainly not on channel list and hopefully it will never be introduced.

Hmm, you're right: not on channellist indeed.
