I recently bought an Apple TV (gen 2) and installed XBMC on it and happily found that it's internal tuxbox streaming protocol works quite well with the OpenWebIf on my VU+ Uno. The two issues I still have are:

1) From XBMC I can only zap between channels that are on the same transponder as the channel currently being watched on the Uno. Has anyone else had such issues and solved them?

2) After streaming XBMC often does not close the stream properly and the tuner in the Uno is still hogged. Is there a way, other than rebooting the Uno, to kill a stale stream?

Any help is appreciated!

Putting VU+ Uno in standby before using XBMC, puts the tuner in available state, then you can zap to any channel.
Can't help with streams not closed properly, this should be an issue for the XBMC addon you use.

I just tried putting my VU+ in standby, but zapping still doesn't work (outside of the transponder it was on when I turned it off). I am using the built-in support in XBMC for enigma boxes. In other words, to add my box to XBMC I just enter a URI on the form tuxbox://boxip:port.

I also tried with the webinterface-old package instead of openwebif, but I have the same problems there. On a side note I had to hack some python to even get it running, but I guess it's not supported any longer...

I am aware this may be an XBMC issue, but looking around the Internet I can't really find any others who have problems with zapping.

When zapping to a channel on a different transponder the following is produced in the log:

Apparently this issue was related to airplayer. Once I removed the plugin, putting the receiver in standby will release control to XBMC. Now it works perfectly!
