Hi folks !

Probably the answer is NOT but ....

Question:
Suppose I've two different channels transmitted
It's possible to watch video pid of channel "A" and have audio from channel "B" as a real-time mix ?

Example: yesterday I want to see MotoGP Qatar race. In Italy there is not a full-HD feed: only SD (bleah !)
I've found a foreign channel with superb full-hd image but comment is not in italian language.
So the idea is to watch foreign channel in full-hd (i.e. tuned on TUNER A) but listen audio from italian channel (i.e. tuned on TUNER B )
Is it possible ?

Hehe, I know exactly what you mean... ;)

The problem is the "workflow" of the hardware, the "hardware" demuxer. You give the demuxer a transport stream (exactly one), the demuxer picks out the audio and the video streams and sends them to the decoders. That means that in theory you could select any audio track from the same transport stream (transponder), but not from another and also not from another tuner. I don't think there's a workaround for that. Although, actually you have multiple demuxers, in theory one could select audio from one demuxer and video from another, I don't think that configuration is supported...

audio pip has the disadvantage that it uses pip for the video, and audio on the main 'screen'.
So one might say the plugin name is misleading ;)

As a result, HD won't work (you get the well known iframe slideshow).

If you would use it the other way around, keep the video on the main screen, and start the other channel on the pip decoder, you would be able to get audio on the analog outputs.
(using the second tv or external pip feature)

I think this would require only minor changes in the audio pip plugin.

So what you're saying is that the audio and video decoders can take their input from different demuxers?

So it can work if both channels are on the same transponder?

it's just pip, nothing else (except that you only use the audio of the pip decoder)

I was under the impression that there are two video decoders for pip purposes, and only one audio decoder, and that the source of both primary video decoder and audio decoder must come from the same demuxer.
