Having the exact same issue as Java 123, but now with image OpenPLi-3.0-beta-dm800se-20130407, not able to scan Astra 4.8E and Hotbird 6/8/9 13E?
Thor 0.8W is of course working...
Have not tried other PLi images, but I shouldn't need to do this, for this basic functionality, right?

I suspect you have a non-standard satellites.xml in /etc/enigma2, either on purpose or as leftover.

Both yes and no, I used to, (to test with a working one, from previous DM) but have now parsed one from http://satellites-xml.eu/ and did a overwrite in /etc/tuxbox and /etc/enigma2 with WinSCP.
Thor 0.8W still works but not the other 2?

Are you saying, that if I remove existing satellites.xml in /etc/enigma2 a default one will be created? Once enigma2 restarts...

No, it will use the image-supplied one in /etc/tuxbox

Ok.
Installed todays daily build on a DM800SE.(OpenPLi-3.0-beta-dm800se-20130412).
Skipping wizard, configure tuner A/B/C/D. (D not configured) Do a automatic scan, and still only find channels on Thor 0.8W.
Astra 4.8E and Hotbird 13E 0 channels found.
Enigma2 settings looks like this after tuner config done.

One other big difference, is that with the old DM800 (Gemeni image) I find 701 channels on Thor 0.8W and of course all channels on Astra 4.8E and Hotbird 6/8/9E, with the DM800SE and default config as per post above I'm only able to find 327 channels on Thor 0.8W and NOTHING on the other 2 satellites???
Something must be wrong with the default config/satellites.xml in the OpenPli image... any help on this would be mostly appreciated!

There is a very simple to test it.
- remove all user-supplied satellites.xml files (see above).
- within enigma go to satellite finder (install if not installed)
- instead of filling in a transponder, choose "predefined transponder" and then select a transponder that normally wouldn't show up in the automatic scan
- share the result + the exact transponder data actually displayed at that screen and I'll try it here.

- No user-supplied satellites.xml are used, using only the one in /etc/tuxbox/, this is a default install
- Satfinder installed
- Using simple mode, so predefined transponders are already used.
- NLB B: 4.8E SES 5..Astra 4A and NLB C: 13.0E Eutelsat Hot Bird 13A/13B/13C not showing any channels in automatic scan
- result: no channels found scanning each Sat/transponder
Satfinder

Tune: Predefined transponder
Transponder: 11265 V 30000 FEC 3/4
Sat: 13.0E Eutelsat Hot Bird 13A/13B/13C
Tune: Predefined transponder

Also adding Thor LBN A, as I only find ca 300 ch, aprox 400 less than with old DM 800 box.

Did you try several transponders (use the arrows to switch transponders)? Are there any transponders that do give lock/snr? I am trying to find a pattern. The other positions (13E and 5E) do give lock on their transponders?

Especially the 13E worries me, there is really nothing special with that position related to the satellites.xml file!
Can you please give me a couple of transponders you're supposed to be able to receive and which don't work? From various positions? See below for supported positions
