are you using the latest build?

I've just tested this, login with telnet, root, no password.
passwd
1234
(repeat)
exit

login with telnet, root, 1234

Works fine here?

There is no 3.2 kernel for the DM800 because it is running much slower than with 2.6.18

Lame excuse. Running "slower" is of little importance, the CPU load rarely exceeds 1% anyway. "Slower" is way better than "not at all".

Exactly... :rolleyes:

Not quite... Try a simple scenario like this with a DM800:
- USB DVB-T tuner module installed
- record a HD channel from USB DVB-T tuner on the internal Sata disk
- watch another HD channel from Satellite tuner
The OSD menu GUI becomes unresponsive, often freezes totally (you can't change a channel anymore) because CPU goes 99%.

The exactly same setup (same USB tuner + same OpenPLi 2.1 image) with NAS mounted instead of internal disk uses CPU only about 10-20% in the same scenario. You don't even feel anything on Enigma GUI, and you can even enable PiP meanwhile...

I'm glad I got rid of the old DM800 and got for the same money (+saved 10EUR) an ET6000. Not clone...

As far I know DVB-USB is not implemented in 3.0 yet... this is work-in-progress.

How did you install those drivers?

I am using them in 2.1. But the discussion was about hardware capabilities of the old DM800, which can't even run 3.0 anyway...

We have OE 2.0 from DMM for 800HD (but no new kernel) , but OpenPLi is still 2.1 for this box - in future can we expect OpenPLi beta higher than 2,1 (with old kernel) ? ;)

Hi,

Here is some bugs I found on OpenPli 3.0, on Xtrend ET-9x00.

Bug 1: Unable to install enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser

root@et9x00:/usr/script# opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser
Installing enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser (1.5.3-r0) to root...
Downloading http://downloads.pli...x00/3rd-party/e
nigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser_1.5.3-r0_et9x00.ipk.
Collected errors:
* satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for enigm
a2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser:
* gst-plugin-rtmp * gst-plugin-mms * gst-plugin-asf *
* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrow
ser.
root@et9x00:/usr/script#

When I search for gst-plugin in opkg list, I found some but they have bad or ugly in there names, so I don't try to install them.

Bug 2: error message at telnet login prompt with strange symbol input.

openpli 3.0 et9x00

et9x00 login: /^H^H^H
login: loginprompt.c:164: login_prompt: Assertion `wlen == (int) len -1' failed.

I miss type my login and then use backspace (^H) then press enter, I receive this error message and telnet session is aborted.

Bug 3: OpenWebif grabscreen doesn't work.

Go to OpenWebif then chose: Box Control - Grab Screenshot.

openpli 3.0

i tried, this morning thr released openpli 3.0 of today:
- it's more working, thane these of last days.
same bugs fixed , lake uninstalling plug we have access to them.
, also time zoneis fixed
, the list of plug start to be full......
- same thing stay not fixed, lake starting with forma 4.3 in stead of 19/16 forma of the starting picture (flowers and logo of openpli)
, weather; no access to the menu to edit cities, but it stope working since the strting op new kernel of op2.1;
we can use foresa weather for 10 days.
, same plugs are impossible to install; for exemple; tspanel, dreamexplorer.....etc
, the skin glass 16 v 6.10 (witch the most complete skin) can be installed, but after ;it deseapper the list of the plug,
to retrive the list of the plug you have to choose open hd skin.

Please, administrator or openpli team, I ask you to try to develop one soft that includ these plugs; foresa, dreamexplorer glass 16 v6.10,
cccam 221 and 230, cccam prio maker cccam info, ccoltvguide, backupsuite10 tspanel, vlc, permanentclok, ecm info,
automaticvolume adjustment.
If you do that, you can realize that's the perfect soft at all.
thinks from me ,mamisnyou from morocco, and from all the user of openpli a rond the word.

For the glass skin you have to contact the maker of the class skin. It seems they adapted to closed source E2 from DMM because the plugins are not vissable this is likely verfied. In addition a lot of plugins need to be adapted.

In addition please note 3.0 is in Alpha stage... but thanks for testing it....

On the dm8000 , Still spontanioussely freezes . No action is required, The channels stays playing well. It's just a freeze From control screen. Gues you can call it shell.

The only way to unfreeze (apart from hard reset ) . Is to start a telnet session it immediatelly unfreezes even before you login, Or just starting an ftp session with for example gftp.

Now I dropped on this ipv6 problem. A couple of years ago this ipv6 also caused freezes on a debian lenny pc solution was to disable it. This in despit the fact thet what frooze at first did not seemed to be related to the network.

http://openpli.org/f...disabling-ipv6/

I'm just giving it a try now . I removed the kernel-module-ipv6 with opkg remove --force-depends.
Rebooted.

Will let know If, .. How weird it should be did or did not solved the freeze problem.

I added the dmesg after freeze problem, But it does not say much.

Seems the DMM drivers for the DM8000 are not IPV6 compatible....

it has been reported here and there:
