no, not yet, still if you would be so kind to try it as well, as the log came from a homebuilt image.

i do not have the required hardware here on site, so a full log ( from boot on up ) would be much appreciated

regards ;)

I will do that but,
With the latests build or that from tomorrow?
Because the build from tomorrow i don't have yet :D :D :D

Hello Here log with my latest build after new flash of dm . Still freezes.
Included full message log here called freeze4dm8000.txt As you can see it unfreezed at line 1215 there where a made telnet connection.
I can't not see much more really wrong in that log.

Then I noticed an thing in nmbd log (samba). The ip there was that from other dm8000 I had. Think it's because samba server detects two same devices trough netbios. At least the hostname dm8000.

It will not really have somthing to do with that, Anyway a changed hostname from my dm with pli from dm8000 into dm8000pli and restarted box.

now the message

[2012/06/04 22:22:57, 0] nmbd/nmbd_packets.c:process_browse_packet(1067)
process_browse_packet: Discarding datagram from IP 192.168.65.207. Source name DM8000<00> is one of our names !

Does not appear anymore . Also the other dm had same message but then with 192.168.65.208 which is my pli box's ip.

I now also tried the beta 3.0 on your web last nightly build. Flashed the box with nfi.

same problem still freezes even more then before.

Ter info: the evolution by dmm 2.0 oe

The very first ones did had this freeze occasionally.
Then it went trough an update from image and all modules (drivers)

After that update there where much much more freezes.

2 days later again a very very long update.

After that very occasional a freeze.

After update on last saturday, again all modules and image.

From then off not a single freeze occured yet.

I included the full messages log of box since flash.

Note There seems not to be a error, gues I did not wait long enough during freeze.
It unfreezed by telnet login.

If there is more which can be done to debug an output with more info,
Just ask me and tell how it must be done.

Are You sure the stick isn't mounted ? . I had A weird problem here. When inserting usb stick formatted with gparted (linuxubuntu) ext 3 or 4 . It is mounted read only not write. ??? The dream normaly works full as root . This is a real weird issue, and indeed was not present on PLI 2.0 2.1. Same stick does work ok on PLI 2.0 2.1 or dmm 1.6 and 2.0 .

@radxnl

Just upgraded my own pli build with your latest commit .

http://openpli.git.s...-core;a=summary

Box restarted at 22:28 , now 23:40 . No freeze occured (yet) That's since a couple of days a record :)

The first freeze usually happened within the first 30 minutes after boot off dm8000.

I hope it will spend the night round whitout freeze .

open-pli 3.0 todays build test report with dm500hd

it is not hanging anymore as it used to and now movies start at begin not at the middel or end (PTS fix from yesterday i guess), but some bugs are still unresolved

- bootlogo is in 4:3 letterbox
- mytube doesnt install from addons server because it depends from gst-plugins-flv i guess because it's now called gst-plugins-good-flv (used dmm binary and got it installed)
- some http non ts streams dont play audio
- some mkv files play audio but stuttering
- autobackup doesn't backup anything, it just creates the backup folder and a symlink inside

this bugs are only related to 3.0 as they dont occur in 2.1

No it is not. :(
I flashed the 07.06.2012 image and I got freezes.

I found a workaround: install and activate PTS plugin by Homey (no need to do the actual timeshift at all though). I had no freezes in OpenPli 3.0 (different versions). I got one just after I deactivated the PTS plugin. Now it is back active and I have no freezes anymore.

Regards.

Hmmm by me it's the other way around.
I just deactivated it .

I think the issue with usb and/or other cards is not completely over.

OpenPli 3 today on ET6000

Cross EPG won't load EPG from HD...

Everything look OK, CrosEPG installed and set up with France checked, downloading and storage on HD OK
But when using EPG through remote blue key, only short time EPG is present...no 7 days EPG as usual...
Tried action to reload EPG without any succes...

Tried to install HBBTV, but installation reported some issue..feature won't work...

Another very old bug from 2.1 is still present: when booting or wake up from deep stand by on DVB-T HD chanel/E-AC3 audio, picture is jerky with no sound...

no crossepg needed with pli - using xmltvimport-rytec is recommended instead. concerning hbbtv: working version with pli3 is last version with sources:enigma2-plugin-extensions-et-webbrowser_1.3

Hi, i testing OpenPli 3.0 and network share mounting not work for me.

It's not possible with same config as for 2.1.

mount.cifs \\\\192.168.222.211\\WDTVLiveHub /media/net -o guest
mount error(2): No such file or directory
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)

DMESG:

[ 4691.424000] CIFS VFS: could not allocate des crypto API
[ 4691.424000]
[ 4691.425000] CIFS VFS: Error -2 during NTLM authentication
[ 4691.426000] CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -2
[ 4691.427000] CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -2

It's look as any modules are not present.

My 5 cents on DM8000 freezes (07.06.2012 flash from openpli.org downloads section).

Contrary to what I stated before the PTS is not an ultimate solution, as some freezes occurred during timeshift playback, rewind and fast forward operations. The box was able to recover from those freezes itself, after a few seconds (~10sec). It got frozen during “save timeshift as movie” operation.

Back to “generic” freezes (with PTS timeshift disabled).

Box state: frozen :( in standby, no response to front panel / remote controller buttons. The “time of death” on front panel display, not updated.

I had open terminal session (telnet, putty) when the freeze occurred. I was able to duplicate session and log in many times. In terminal:

The time & date was OK in terminal (quite obvious).

My internal HDD disappeared! I had 2 partitions on my HDD, sda1 ext3 for movies and sda2 ext2 for timeshift. sda1 was mounted at the time the freeze happened, the sda2 was not mounted as I was going to fsck it. While sda1 was still accessible via its mount point, the fsck could not read. fdisk did not see the /dev/sda. My other devices were in OK, (CF card & back lower USB).

Some of the telnet commands did not return to the prompt. I always duplicated the session before command execution. Commands I tried:

top command showed summary lines at the top but no line for any process, could not close, had to kill the terminal. Memory usage reported looked ok, very similar to normal conditions. The % was about just below 10% (two leftmost).

ps command showed lines up to enigma2 process, then nothing and froze (see spoiler at the bottom). Had to kill terminal.

mount without parameters – no problem

fdisk –l no problem (apart from the lack of the /dev/sda)

umount command froze but the unmount was successful.

I wish I did dmesg and serial cable log, but I was in hurry to get in time for euro2012 matches ;) and forgot to do such simple thing . Now I am back to 2.1.

I hope the above will help solve the problem.

Regards.
