Besides, automatic channel scan does not include the option for additional tuners (tuner E in this case).

Please try again tomorrow, if the T2 transponder is properly recognised as being T2, this should fix it.
Cannot test it myself, we do not have T2 over here.

Yes, this seems to be the problem.Sorry to interrupt, but from the first post it looks like the problem is only when the tuners C & D are active and is not DVB-T2 specific. When the C & D tuners are disabled in settings, then the we can use the external (connected to USB port) additional DVB-T(2) tuner. I have the DVB-T, not DVB-T2, tuner and have the same problem.
Regards.

There you describe the problem being that e2 selects a DVB-T tuner for a DVB-T2 transponder.
Which makes perfect sense, looking at the code, T/T2 was not taken into consideration when selecting a tuner.
I believe I fixed that, a T2 tuner should now be selected for a T2 transponder.
For T, nothing changes.
If you have one or two internal T tuners, e2 will select those instead of the usb tuner. Which is perfectly normal.
Only when the internal T tuners are in use, e2 will start to use the usb tuner.

Had the same problem with my IT9135 based DVB-T USB tuner. I have the DM8000 with S/S/T/- tuners installed. The box tried to tune on tuner C instead of tuner E (the USB tuner).
That's by design. E2 selects the first matching tuner.
Just like it prefers A for a satellite transponder, instead of B.

So what is the function of /System/Customize/Preferred tuner? Setting it to tuner E seems to do nothing.

It is not so easy. Single DVB-T tuner can demux one frequency (multiplex) at a time. There are multiple multiplexes in my area. I tried 2 apporaches to mimic the twin-DVB-T tuner, I would be great to use the E tuner when C tuner is busy and conflicts. But it never happens.

But note that you should use this setting for testing purposes only.
Normally you should let e2 find the correct tuner. If it does not end up using the expected one, that's usually a sign that you should fix your configuration.

Well, that's a different issue.
You did not mention that before.
What does the e2 log say, when you try to tune a T transponder while C is busy?
I will test it soon, but before I would like you to clarify what is the best setup for it.
For twin DVB-S tuner, Tuner A is configured to some satelittes and tuner B is configured as "B equal to A" (or similar naming). I have DVB-T tuner C in expansion slot of my DM8000.It is configured to some terrestial area ("Europe DVB-T ...." or similar). When I put the USB DVB-T tuner E (D slot is left empty) then I can configure it the same way ("Europe DVB-T ...."). There is no "E equal C" option, so will be enigma2 smart enough to tune tuner E when C is busy?
And another question: having configuration tuner A, tuner B equal to A, tuner C "Europe DVB-T", tuner D "Europe DVB-T", should I scan for services A,C,D tuners or A,C or A,D only?
Regards.

there should be no difference, whether you configure 'equal to X', or just make the same settings as X. The results should be the same.
And another question: having configuration tuner A, tuner B equal to A, tuner C "Europe DVB-T", tuner D "Tuner DVB-T", should I scan for services A,C,D tuners or A,C or A,D only?
you only need to scan A and C in that case.
When you scan B and D, no additional services will be found.

In the meantime, can you point me what is wrong with automatic scanning: it cannot find any service on 13.0E 11411H 27500 DVB-S2 8PSK 5/6. But when I do a manual scan of this transponder it does find all the services with no problem. Satellites.xml is OK, for sure. I have the problem with this transponder since it switched its parameters from DVB-S, many months ago.
Regards.
