yeah that's what i thought. .TS from receivers is strange and not "normal" as others. if that's the case i have to talk to XBMC devs to see if they help me out.
thank you all.

btw: if there is anyone interested in this too, here is my thread:
http://forum.xbmc.or...1891#pid1341891

live TV stream to XBMC works perfect but dvb-s MPEG2 doesn't. Only dvb-s2.
Also .TS doesn't work either.

I think this is the point: If you start recording a channel, it will simply start copying any bits from the pid's in the transport stream that are relevant to the channel, which, amusingly, is also dictated by metadata from the channel itself. Enigma will probably start recording on a transport stream packet size boundary (188 bytes) bit IT WILL NOT make sure the stream is exactly at the start of PES packets for audio and video. Any player that says it can play transport stream must be able to deal with that. It must scan en discard packets that are part of a PES packet that belong to a previous PES packet until a new PES packet is started, for all substreams (all audio/video/other pid's). I think XBMC has a bug somewhere in that area. Another possibility is that XBMC doesn't try hard enough to find transport stream metadata (the PSI: PAT/PMT tables) or does a poor job interpreting them.

In any way there is very little enigma can do about this situation.

If enigma would be producing non-confirming transport streams, the SoC in the receiver (hardware, complies to standards) wouldn't be able to play them back itself!

It's not something "generic" for mp4 files, my mp4 files work as expected... Is there something peculiar with your mp4 files?

See below (signature). It's not something that's bound to a certain receiver. The only thing is that the dm800 cannot play mpeg4-vc (aka "divx").

Ah okay, now I understand what you mean. Yes, this is a known problem for all non-transport-stream files. It's not easy to fix, believe me.

I have tested more mp4 files, and found something interesting.

I have found mp4 file that work with play, pause, fast forward functions. here is mediainfo of that file: LINK

and here is mediainfo of mp4 file that doesn't work with play, pause, ff functions: LINK

can someone see what is the main difference between this two files?
thnx!

I see , many (maybe all) of my mp4 files are playing ff correct. Rewind sometimes not. Sometimes I do not hear a voice during ff. All my mp4 (music clips) files are created using avidemux from sources downloaded from youtube (flv, mple) , other internet sources or recorded by dreambox. Sometimes they are recreated if source is not h264, but if is h264 I very very often have to "normalize" level of voice lought . Only small set of files are correct at once and I store without touching it by avidemux. Maybe they are not playing rewind ?

I see bad bug with mpg/avi/mp4 files with stop-play and start-play. I am using it to see something step by step (frame by frame- because I do not know the other way to simulate it ) and I am not able to do it very often.
The bug is , when I press again play the player is jumping some ms to forward and I am not able to see this, what is exactly after the frame frezed by me using stop-play.
The other feature: "jump some ms to the back" after pressing play again can be very helpful . If this value of ms[econds] will be possible to define in configuration it will be fine.
The most important is to eliminate skipping forward. Adding skipping back will be very nice feature but fixing current but will be enough if will be done.

Is the other way to start play frame by frame ?
(Is a possibility to play with speed 1/2 , 1/4, ...1/32 of default speed ? How?)
