What packages are you missing on what target?

VU+ for one, has cleaned up it's download server and several packages we obtain from there have vanished.

My last try is the oe-core on upstream branch with the vusolo machine. I didn't go too far for this one...

Openembedded for the OpenPLi 3.0 environment has been initialized
properly. Now you can start building your image, by doing either:

 MACHINE=... make image

    or:

/bin/sh: 1: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string
make: *** [all] Error 2

Well it's easy to solve...

After I go a mismatch of checksum:

ERROR: Checksum failure fetching http://kernel.org/pu...nux-3.1.tar.bz2
ERROR: Function failed: Fetcher failure for URL: 'http://kernel.org/pu...nux-3.1.tar.bz2'. Checksum mismatch!

Is this a problem only with vusolo on the upstream branch?

You didn't answer my question either ...

I can use the upstream branch with machines other than the vu+ family then?

I am not completely sure what you mean.

Which branch of oe-core is currently buildable without errors on which OS version? (and what type of machine must I choose? dm800? vuduo?)

What machine you choose depends on what receiver the image is going to run on?

Which branch of OE-core is buildable, I can't tell you, unless you mean the OpenPLi build environment instead, and there we only have "master" (besides a few experimentals that you shouldn't use if you're not familiar with them).

I other words: Just follow the procedure as is documented, to start a build. Something like make; make image.

Yes. As it follows the upstream openembedded-core more closely (hence the name), there may be problems that were solved in the OE core. Fetching problems are unfortunately quite common on first runs, sometimes it's just a temporary outage.

But it's experimental, so there's no guarantee it works. I only tested it on the dm8000, et9x00 and vusolo2.

Ah upstream as in literally "upstream" as in branch name.

None of these images are working : dm8000, et9x00 and vusolo2 (on upstream branch).

There is a missing package Linux 3.3 (et9x00 and vusolo2) and 3.1 (dm8000).

What is an estar? Sounds like a clone. We don't make an image for that box, so perhaps you should check with the creator of your image?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Is OpenPLi 4.0 for Xtrend ET6000 ready "for production" (daily livingroom usage for family with kids) or should we still stick with OpenPLi 3?

Can I assume the openpli v4 beta for the VUDUO is now stable enough to use on a daily basis?

OpenPLi 4.0 is absolutely stable, no problems for me.

Most problems can be solved simply by a closer look.
