-I found the openpli 2.1 crashes when playing flac files with mediaplayer .
-The problem comes after playing the file for a while..
-system frezzes and needs to be rebooted THE HARD WAY...

Please request more info if needed!
Any alternative to mediaplayer ? or solution to bug ?

the 'mediaplayer' is just a piece of userinterface.
Playback is done by gstreamer (and servicemp3 in e2).

You forgot to mention which box you have?

i found some logs... im not sure if this helps....

Media player seems very unstable:

-ive been testing it for a few days now with a 1.5 T HDD
-if i play around too much with the playlists , it crashes right away....
- Playlist are not big... it crashes iven with a single album
-im playing mostly FLAC FILES...

Please help , i am very happy with OPENPLI , i finally succeded with OSCAM as cardserver & CCCAM as client ... it feels very solid excepting for mediaplayer...

hmm, above crashlogs have nothing to do with mediaplayer...
(the first one - some problem with satfinder, next two - crossepg issue)
you need to find relevant one(s)

//btw. you're talking about this 'external' (old and probably buggy) 'mediaplayer' plugin?
and what happens when you try to playback your files with embedded OpenPLi player (under 'movielist' button)?
does e2 crash too?

Dilma: how can i fix this ? AttributeError: 'CrossEPG_Auto' object has no attribute 'cacheYear' ?
blzr: ill try 'movielist' button , but the movielist im using is installed by default in openpli (plugins) , i assumed it was GOOD...

Thanks for the answers... ill trye to get a better log this weekend...

Flash the box with today's firmware and DON'T install crossepg.

I'll install new firmware tonight... i will stay away from crossepg... did you made a change in todays build just for me? :D

Crash also happens with 'movielist' button player......

i looked into the /var/log and there is not much information/logs , i asume this is to save flash:
How can i save verbose logs into my HDD ?? to track this issue ..

actually trhe crashlogs are automatically stored on your hdd...
so, after your 'playback' GS occurs, go to the /hdd, choose the 'freshest' crashlog and it should tell us something /?/

Just an idea :

How can i play the flac files i the command line? gst-launch ? i dont seem to find the right syntax..

maybe like this i can isolate the problem also by executing in verbose mode...

Flac and VU = not good due to the drivers....

VTI works the same driver, can blame GStreamer?

Yep,,,, VTI has older gstreamer then we have ?????

And in addition VTI is based on VU's enigma2.... that can work-a-round driver stupidies..... :(......
