I clear my Gstreamer Cache allready but the black Screen Problem with .mkv Files allready present. Only openpli 2.0 solve the Problem.

Tried, but it doesn't help.

Deleted cache as you suggested. Opened the media player, started an MKV, seek with key 3, and bang! All enigma and playback freezes forever with spinning wheels.

Did you restart your box after clearing the cache? You should restart the box too....

But please note... after a while the issue could return and it might be you need to redo this...

No, because nobody mentioned I had to restart.
I will reflash and downgrade anyway, because we use the box intensively (it's the family's main entertainment and information source), thus downtimes must be minimized.

Unfortunately it's pretty hard to transmit towards the developer's team the disappointment of my 2-years old son and my wife who gave birth two weeks ago to my little daughter, when there's a crash again...

you've 'transmitted' your disappointment more than enough, if you ask me.
It's just that expressing disappointment isn't helping us a single bit.

Sorry for that. I'm trying to compensate that by contributing a Hungarian translation (for a couple of years now).
But if you think that's not enough, maybe I'll cancel my contributions for the future, and that's it.

You might have misunderstood what I meant.
I didn't mean to ask you to contribute anything, I just meant that expressing your disappointment once is more than enough, we are aware of the problem.

Don't know guys, but the attitude of many "users" have changed in the last couple of years. Back when we had the old grey-colored forum with the old engine, and with the old topic structure, most of you guys were much more happy helping. Now if somebody has an observation, or a constructive suggestion, he/she is being kicked off in a pretty ugly manner. That never happened in the old days, when the community was a happy, helpful one. That's why I joined back then... but now I see a huge moral degradation over here...

Sorry but that's what we see, and I'm not the only one...

The users do expect we do fix issues within a minute.... and do not think about that sometimes temporary thinks are broken for a while due to development...
Back when we had final releases and we were closed source you hade when you was happy two PLi-images a year.... ....

WIth the images upto 15-Nov-2012 most MKVs do work... - with the recent images the only work-a-round we have is clear the gstreamer cache en reboot the box.

Hi,

I do the command line “rm /home/root/.gstreamer-0.10/ -fr” in my putty console and reboot my et9000. Troubles are still there.

Do you thing that my and robertut, we are two stupid?

Some Mkvs don’t start “black screen” and movie have zero minute, I tested 10 mkv movies and 4 movies don’t start. 40% is a lot !

I repeate this bug again.

With DTS downmix
After a forward or rewind action (<< and >> button) with dts track the sound is out of sync.
When i use 1,4,7 and 3,6,9 button with dts, the movie freeze or sound is out of sync.
I must reboot my box.

Say that there’s no error, is that you do not test enough.
These bugs are obvious and it feels wrong to your credit from companies who give you money,
but apparently team don’t care otherwise show us the opposite.

We don't get any money for this 'work', we do this as a hobby (and we'd like to keep it that way).
We all have dayjobs to make a living (which also explains why we might need some time to fix certain things).

I downgraded to version of 15th of November by reflashing the image, and all is fine now on my side.

I suggest to restore to the server the possibility to download the version from the 15th of Nov., as many users would be glad to access it.

what we're currently working on, is downgrade the offending glib-2.0 version (which was not intended to end up in the image in the first place).
However, opkg cannot handle downgrades.
So
1. we need to start a clean build on our buildservers, and
2. users will have to make a clean flash (when the new builds have completed).
