Well, The Netherlands near the border with Germany.

But if I analyzed the footprint correctly my dish should be able to receive it. Guessing a big tree is blocking that satposition :(

Over here (on the other side of the country) I should certainly be able to receive 27.5W, problem is dat I also need to be able to receive 28.2E, that's a too large span, even for a wavefrontier T90 ;)

Not at all, proven in Sweden, Luxembourg and Italy so far...

In Luxembourg you can even buy a HW modified T90, by the first importer of it into EU, the dish is still, I believe, on their chimney:

No need for extreme support on rails, for last LNBs.

Yes I know of your dish. But I don't want 28.2E at the very edge of my dish, anyway. I now have reception values of 14-15.8 dB, I'd like to keep it that way ;) I wonder if citizens of the UK even get this high SNR's with their small "Sky" dishes.

You are right, things have changed in the meantime, so now I have Gibertini 1.5m dish for 28E and still, there are problems, here in Italy, a part of the day, for a part of the year...

But 27.5W has a strong signal, it is encrypted, if I remember correctly (I haven't yet set it up here, after moving - in the process of doing so), so they don't tweak it because of FTA channels, like on 28E.

But you are very close to the UK so even if yo have 8dB signal - you'd be OK. Of course, 10 dB is better and it's stable, I think... ;)

Btw, the Sathifax dish has an extended second reflector and extended rail, so no extras are needed and signal is stronger - it may well be fine at your location... I mean, close to the British Isles... ;)

Well checked it out by daylight and a branch of a big oak is waving just in front of the path.

SNR levels are about 6.6 dB and tuner is responding Timeout reading PMT... but I presume that is normal for crypted PMT?

I see another problem, enigma doesnt send a PMT at all, softcam doesnt get a sign of a channel zap so nothing is triggererd.

@openpli team:

Can enigma2 be changed so it always send a PMT on channel lock to softcam e.g. an empty one without ecmpids and streampids so oscam gets triggered to fetch the pmt?

There is no harm in doing so, if tuner gets a lock but enigma cant get a valid PMT just send a bogus empty one so softcam can takeover.

6.6 dB should be just about enough. Timeout reading PMT is certainly normal in this case.

Hi and grettings everyone,
I've been trying to watch BBC channel with Intelsat 27.5, but I can't.
Here is the explanation of what I'm doing:

1.I Install dvdsnoop throw telnet "opkg update" and after "opkg I Install dvdbsnoop"and  everything ok without any error. I give 755 attributes to it.

2.I Install this 3 files
“bbc_pmt_starter.sh” “bbc_pmt_v6.py”  and “enigma2_pre_start.sh” in usr/bin and I give 755 attributes to it.

3.I modify “bbc_pmt_starter.sh” with this line  “ scriptName=”bbc_pmt:v6.py –t long –d /ddev/dvd/adapter0/demux0”” I restart the deco.

4.Edit the file lamedb: “init 4” throw FTP I access to etc/enigma2/lamedb I edit it and after “init 3”

5.I install OSCam-ymod v18 and I move the file oscam.keys inside
/usr/keys/   I reset the deco.

But it doesn't work and the problem is that I don't know what it's failing
How can I know what is happening?
I don't know if it's the version of the three files or maybe the modification of “bbc_pmt_starter.sh”, the  values of lamedb o wrong keys... ¿How can I find the failure? Thanks in advance.
I've a deco Vu+ DUO2 with OpenSpa 4.0.004

These are the correct steps for Vu+ DUO2 with OpenSpa 5.0.002 and Oscam Ymod

1.Install dvbsnoop throw telnet "opkg update" and after "opkg Install dvbsnoop". I give 755 attributes to it.

2.Install this 3 files
“bbc_pmt_starter.sh” “bbc_pmt_v6.py”  and “enigma2_pre_start.sh” in usr/bin and I give 755 attributes to it.

3.Modify “bbc_pmt_starter.sh” with this line  “ scriptName=”bbc_pmt:v6.py –t long –d /ddev/dvd/adapter0/demux0”” Restart the deco.

4.Edit the file lamedb: telnet  “init 4” throw FTP I access to etc/enigma2/lamedb I edit it and after telnet “init 3”

5.Install OSCam-ymod v18 and I move the file oscam.keys inside etc/tuxbox/config/oscam-ymod   Reset the deco.

Question: I have got BBC 27.5 working quite nicely in a DM8000 with a Sundtek USB S2 Stick. I bought myself a extra Tuner BCM4505. I have a signal lock, but thats it. Has anybody gotten a BCM4505 to work in a DM8000 for BBC ? I have seen lots of reports for the 800se but the DM8000 reports are far and few between.

The bcm4505 should work in the dm8000 just fine.

Try this:

- configure the tuner correctly

- go to the satellite finder

- select a transponder with some FTA services from the "predefined transponder"s

- if you get a lock, you're good to go, click "OK" and the scanning starts

- watch what services are found and via the "all services" (or satellites -> 27.5 position) locate them and watch

I think the problem is in the decrypting ;)
