I am using a smartdnsproxy for years, just type in the dns in the network settings and copy the public m3u playlist for the bbc channels, works smoothly. For other UK channels its a hit and miss as the other stations dont have a direct link and you have to use links e.g. from hasbahca plugin until the ip is changing. But, as a backup, I am quiet happy to use it for the bbc channels.

Thanks. I think you are talking about watching BBC channels on a computer.
And I am thinking of watching it using an Enigma2 box, so I guess I would need somethinh like a smartdnsproxy plugin. No?

bloke76: many thanks for this useful hint. I am eager to test it next week :-).
One question: if you say that you only put the dns server address into the IPv4 parameter set, how to you authenticate to your smart dns provider if your IP address will change (Login and reputting your new IP address)?
Robinson: you can put the stream url from the m3u playlist into your enigma2 settings via the tool dreamboxedit. I already was successful with that way by renewing the BBC radio stations with their AAC coding.

Well, I am having all the bbc channels in my channel list on my box. The link is the officical adress from the bbc iplayer
e.g:
#SERVICE 4097:0:19:4484:1000:1:CFDACE7:0:0:0:https%3a//vs-hls-push-uk-live.akamaized.net/x=4/i=urn%3abbc%3apips%3aservice%3abbc_one_hd/t=3840/v=pv14/b=5070016/main.m3u8:BBC One HD
#DESCRIPTION BBC One HD
#SERVICE 4097:0:1:11C0:1000:1:CFDACE7:0:0:0:https%3a//vs-hls-pushb-uk-live.akamaized.net/x=4/i=urn%3abbc%3apips%3aservice%3abbc_four_hd/t=3840/v=pv14/b=5070016/main.m3u8:BBC Four HD
#DESCRIPTION BBC Four HD
BUT: As they are geoblocked, you will only be able to watch them if you are IN the UK.
So I am using smartdnsproxy, as my IP adress is changing every day after a reboot I am using a portforwarding that will tell the smartdnsproxy my recent IP adress, so they can identify me.
No outage so far, only issue is, you cant tape, just watch live!

Update:
- smart dns account stable since two days
- no streams urls known for ITV etc
- bbc iplayer website --> ok
- vlc stream list--> ok
- bbc iplayer on android --> ok
- enigma2 stream list on sf4008, sf8008, hd51 --> ok, but beside of bbc parliament, bbc alba, s4c, but no epg, no subtitle
- enigma2 stream for bbc radio programs AAC coding ok, but every service needs about 4..5 seconds until it plays (smart dns not needed for radio programs)

Checked again and the signal is there.
The problem is the dm8000, for what ever reason it sees the signal, but finds no channels. But my sat meter can see there are channels in the TP
Anyone else had this issue with a DM8000 ?
I recall way back someone talked about it.
Cheers

Telstar is back now but signal is way low
Weak this morning, even with a clear blue sky, while it was at it's highest and most westerly, but back now strong as ever (7.4db).
