He most probably means limit the timeshift file size. Right?

Yes.

Limit hours.

A simple restart timeshift.

What will happen if the disk full?

A simple restart timeshift.-> when you do not store it.... it will be purged as soon it is stopped... so you zap....

Restart is a problem, if the user is watching timeshift buffer. Even if he is not watching it, timeshift buffer is deleted after restart and so you cannot store it.

I think there's an inactivity timer. It should be a good idea to use it to avoid writing disk full.

Can you look into log what stands there? I can only see pietergs commits  http://sourceforge.n...6b39cca315692e/ which might be the problem...

@pieterg: You're commit does not work.

eConfigManager::getConfigValue("config.usage.timeshift_path"); returns "".

The instance variable in eConfigManager class is null.

I can confirm indeed that something is incorrect with the new eConfigManager baseclass... http://sourceforge.n...6b39cca315692e/

I personally do not need this plugin.
Who uses this plugin will get problems after the update.

You can enable it in the settings (settings -> system -> user interface menu).

@littlesat: You were 10 seconds faster ;)

Ok I uninstalled PTS and trying this new method.

Imagine this scenario:-

I'm watching the news but missed something the guy said. so I rewind 15 seconds, so far so good, I hear what the guy said and now I want to go back to live so I press stop,

this stops the timeshift  permanently and no longer records again until changing away from the channel and back again unlike PTS which will carry on recording after pressing stop.

The other way to get back to live is to FF until it catches up.

Both of these seems very clumsy or have I missed something ?
