You just go the recordings using the button on the remote control, select the recording, press OK, and it will be shown. You don't need upnp or dlna for that at all.

Hi,
it should work, but I didn't test all aspect of this dlnaserver.

What comes in my mind is, does a test with mediatomb (or other upnp servers) on a local (linux) laptop work? does your network (ROUTER) support the dlna/upnp announcements.... please test those things first. Please also (ALWAYS) specify what exactly does not work when you say "installed the plugin but doesnt work...", is it the installation, that didn't succeed, the configuration of the plugin, are there errors (error messages shown),... it could be anything that "doesnt work"
Did you try to restart your STB, did you test if other machines can "see" the server?

Maybe others can help you to debug the problem further, I only sometimes use the dlnabrowser to connect to other mediatomb server(s).
Good luck

@gianluk,
after installing the dlnaserver ipk via telnet and restarting the user interface (enigma2) I see an entry under Menu -> Plugins:
DLNA Server
This is dlna server using minidlna.

How did u install the ipk? Via telnet? Did it install w/o errors? I do not know much about the plugin itself but I think if it installed w/o errors it should appear somehow in the plugin list. It seems that @Dima73 and I myself did install it successfully. Hopefully others can report if it works or doesnt work for them and we can find out why.
I don't think it depends on the hardware, but that question hopefully others can answer better than me.

Is there no such entry in your plugin list saying 'DLNA Server'? Maybe you should try to reinstall it via telnet then!?

Good luck

P.S: since this plugin seems to depens on some other packages (like minidlna etc) 'opkg install enigma.... .ipk' should install or at least report missing packages. Did that happen?

@ims: I know that.
But I'm asking @gianluk what is the result on his STB ? He should give us the output of his command line
Could you (@ims) PLEASE test the plugin and tell us if it works for you, do you know why it doesn't work 4 gianluk?

@Dima73 Could you tell us if you are using an openembedded-powered STB (like me). Could that be a reason why we two can get it to work and @gianluk not?

@all can others test this plugin. I don't understand why it should work only on some boxes.

@gianluk
Sorry I don't understand what the problem is. What does the opkg install outputs (opkg install libgsm1 libtheora0)? Is there any error? You should post it, otherwise we do *not* understand what the problem is.
If they really are not available (can't be found), consider installing the ipks directly, then install enigma2-plugin-extension-dlnaserver.
Steps:
1. Install dependencies
2. Install dlnaserver

BTW, these are the 2 feeds that my box queries when installing dlnaserver, BUT you should really get it via your feeds (opkg install xxx), if they really are not available you could try them too:
http://feed.openmips...r1_mips32el.ipk
http://feed.openmips....0_mips32el.ipk

... and I am not sure why the dlnaserver needs these packages (e.g. libgsm) but I am not the package maintainer of dlnaserver etc.
Hope this helps

Update: you could also try this on-the-fly generated ipk, w/0 the gsm,libtheora dependency.

P.S. sorry for the double post, couldn't edit first one
