I found a solution for the mentioned mp3 problem. Babsy98 has tested several media files and everything works fine. He has added the patch to their openATV image (latest version from today). I have also build an OpenPli image for et9x00 boxes which includes the latest gstreamer 0.10 version and my patch.
Here is a link to the download:
http://www.file-uplo...43_usb.zip.html
(download button is right below the download counter)

Please test it with all your media files and report here, if it works properly. Thanks!

Attached are the 2 patches, to switch to latest gstreamer version.

I will certainly test it, but I do not have the possibility this weekend.

As soon as possible I will report back.

The driver thing I don't know exactly.
It's a self build image with the latest sources from git. So if the normal openpli image includes the new drivers then mine too.

Please commit the patch in the openpli 3.0 tree for all boxes. It can't be worse than it is now, and even if it is, we can revert it later. I don't have ET9X00 to try and I can't currently build my own image (my build box is under upgrade process) and of course most people can't build their own image for testing.

You cannot install the files. For non et9x00 I see only 2 ways for testing. First you have a build environment. Then you can patch it yourself and build an own image.
Second go to www.opena.tv and download there an image for your box. Make a backup. Flash new image. Test and afterwards flash backup.

@babsy98: Is the patch included in all your images?

Let us wait what babsy98 answers.

But if you are not familiar with making backups and flashing then I cannot help you, because I don't know how it works on dreamboxes.

I cannot commit at least the meta patches as there are a lot of white spaces (rows with + and a space or +-- and a space or so) and I see spaces instead of tabs.... :(

Below a log after I already manually removed some... probably it is better that we get another patch but then in the right format...

Applying: Switch to latest gstreamer 0.10 version
c:/Users/Git/openpli-oe-core/.git/rebase-apply/patch:1045: trailing whitespace.
c:/Users/Git/.git/rebase-apply/patch:1047: trailing whitespace.
c:/Users/Git/openpli-oe-core/.git/rebase-apply/patch:1057: trailing whitespace.
c:/Users/Git/openpli-oe-core/.git/rebase-apply/patch:1062: trailing whitespace.
c:/Users/Git/openpli-oe-core/.git/rebase-apply/patch:1080: trailing whitespace.
warning: squelched 90 whitespace errors
warning: 95 lines add whitespace errors.

Hi littlesat,

I can adapt them.
But the patches are for gstreamer and gstreamer code seems to use spaces instead of tabs. I have only changed the bitbake files and one c++ patch.

A generell question: One of the 2 patches is for openembedded. Can you commit changes to that git? Or do I need to adapt it again.

I do have some question to devs - after you apply patches to trunk, will it require us to reflash our boxes? or could we simply do a regular update?

Most likely there is no reflash required...
