For last few days I've been having some problems with watching the movies: After about 15 minutes of watching the box hangs up and stops playing and engima restarts. I've noticed that during watching the movie usage of memory with process /etc/bin/enigma2 is growing from 140MB to 215MB and then it hangs.

I've been using Openpli firmware for more than a year and I had never such an issue.

I've made clean installation and nothing has changed.

I've found some backup with openpli firmware 2012-11-15 and this works fine!

Of course after online update issue is returned.

If it could be to any help I yesterday watched two movies, one dvdr and one x264.

 

The problem only occured in the x264 movie and it didnt matter if it is was 720 or 1080.

 

Have you updated the codec in any way in mid june that could have coused this problem?

The codecs are in the SoC, in the hardware.

Yes, as far as I know dmm didn't change the kernel lately, so you should be able to just download older drivers from the dmm site and (force) install them, using opkg.

no, don't use a non-pli ipk, it won't contain the necessary files to autoload the drivers.

Instead, just copy the ko files into your /lib/modules/<kernelversion>/extra directory

I have now tried different driver packages and replaced the *.ko files but every time my box wont start.

It hangs with msg dhcp on the display.

If I copy the original files back and reboot everyhing works again.

 

Can you tell me which files to replace?

It's important that the driver modules are for the very same kernel, dmm might have drivers for "stable" and "experimental" kernels and even more.
