Hello,

I run openpli V3 (latest) on a Vu solo and a duo and using a NAS (Popcorn Hour) to store recordings or for timeshift functions. I have setup an NFS share from both the solo and duo to the NAS. The NFS share is setup as a replacement hard drive. I  can record and  timeshift fine from both the solo and duo. After an undetermined time period I see a message that timeshift is not possible and if I try and record the duo pops a message that no hard drive can be found. If I look in mountmanager the disk shows as unmounted. From within mountmanagement if I disable and reenable the share I am able to record again. From a soft or hard reboot sometimes the drive shows active, sometimes not.

This seems to be timing related problem.

Can I ask if anyone else is operating in this manner (nas) and if so if you are having simmilar issues.

Not with OpenPLi. I'm running OpenViX on several receivers. NAS is a QNAP 219P II. Connection to all devices is via 10/100  Ethernet. NAS is mounted by NFS, as a network mount, not HDD. I'm not running PTS, but standard timeshift works fine as do recordings and playback. After a power outage, or after a restart of the NAS or any of the receivers the connection is still active. Used this config for about 6 months and has been bulletproof.

I'm using OpenPLi on two ET6000 boxes with my NAS running Ubuntu Server LTS, with standard Samba shares. I don't use Timeshift though, but I have no problems making a couple of recordings every day, and watching various media files from it.

 

One of the ET6000 is connected to the network though a 3km Ubiquiti NBM5 wireless link, and through a BSD firewall, and recording, playing, partnerbox live streams etc. all working OK.

f for some reason the box stays in standby for a week, then indeed it looses connection with the NAS, and Enigma freezes when accessing the media player, a power cycle is needed.
