Where exactly do I find that line to be removed?

And does it have to be removed every time I change a channel or every time I open OpenWebif?

And if it really fixes the issue with VLC, then somebody should perhaps modify OpenWebif plugin if the modification does not bring about any negative issues.

In order to always work, file /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/OpenWebif/controllers/models/stream.py needs to be modified so it will not add "#EXTVLCOPT:program=XXXX" in the stream.m3u file when streaming transcoded stream. I don't know how other images have modified this. Personally I don't care since I only do transcoded streaming from android application.

Do you mean some programs cannot handle this line?

How about moving it, would that help?

Anyway, that's something that should handled by the OpenWebif developers.

Hi,

VLC does not like this line with transcoded streams.

ciao

I added a config value so users can turn on/off this line for now. Later, we should decide to remove this additional part only for transcoded stream or leave the config value.

Thank you, plnick.

OpenPLi developers, when will this new version be available for automatic update, please?

Is there any advantage for any application to have the now omitted  line available? Any mobile player uses it?

What is the status of TranscodingSetup plugin and transcoding itself on the latest builds of OpenPLi 4.0?

Will it work out-of-the-box without any modifications by the user or not quite yet?

Good question. I though I fixed it, but it appears that the transcoding setup plugin now completely has vanished from the feed. I'll look into it.

Also note that the major part of the updates haven't been compiling the last few days.

There was yet another problem, which seems to be fixed now, which prevented the plugin to be built for the vusolo2, vuduo2 was okay.

On either solo2 or duo2 you can now install the transcoding setup plugin, this will pull in the transtreamproxy and it will work. I tried it on the vusolo2 using the web interface a few moments ago. I can't test the vuduo2.

Thank you, Erik.

I understand this works only for OpenPLi 4 (not 3) and TranscodingSetup will not be automatically included in this night's build but it can be installed from the feed after a fresh install of OpenPLi 4 on Solo2?

It can be installed in any OpenPLi 4 installation indeed.

It looks like the plugin & support are included in a fresh image flash from today, but it's a bit difficult to see if that succeeded

Hi Erik,

Yes, the plugin is present in the latest builds.

But it seems a bit outdated. Maybe some VU drivers are not installed?

This is because a couple of weeks ago there was a driver update from VU, which enabled bitrate and framerate change by the user.

Do you think this can be updated in OpenPLi?

Thanks.

The drivers are up to date. It's the plugin that's outdated. It's sufficient for the vusolo2 that I have though :D

You can make adjustments manually in /proc/stb/video/encoder
