If the plugin has a public source (e.g. at code.vuplus.com) please supply the url, so we can merge it into the native feed.

I took it from https://github.com/o...ransCodingSetup which is a human readable version of the rough one on http://code.vuplus.c...lugin;a=summary

You can try the attached version of the plugin. Unzip to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins

attachicon.gifTransCodingSetup.zip

Thanks.

I understand I just get rid of what is inside the folder at the moment:

- __init__.py

- __init__.pyo

- plugin.py

- plugin.pyo

and replace it with the following:

- locale folder

- __init__.pyo

- plugin.pyo

- setup.xml

Hi,

It seems to the job, especially as regards bitrate.

As regards framerate, however, the below message pops up. In the end, though, the rate seems to be changed, which shows after hitting OK on this screen.

The solo2 doesn't support setting framerate afaik.

20130819
- Fix DTSHD downmix & passthrough
- Support more than 4 tuners(vtuner) in duo2 and ultimo
- Fix DVB-C/T tuner recognition(duo2)
- Fix play/pause in solo2(when duo2's new remote control is used)
- Fix Xcrypt card detection problem(duo2, solo2, uno, ultimo)
- Support transcoding bitrate/framerate setup (solo2, 50K<bitrate<1M, Change is in effect in the subsequent connection )

It is not 100% clear but I would assume both bitrate and framerate have been supported since August driver update.

I just checked, the /proc file is there, indeed. So either there is an error in the plugin, or in the driver... You might want to try it writing to the /proc files directly, go to /proc/stb/encoder/0.

@SatKiekerd #68

I added a config value so users can turn on/off this line for now. Later, we should decide to remove this additional part only for transcoded stream or leave the config value.

Is there any advantage for any application to have the now omitted  line available? Any mobile player uses it?

Yes, this line (#EXTVLCOPT:program=PMT) is important to stream

-CSAT Radios https://trac.videola...4264#comment:20

-some Polish PayTV channels http://openpli.org/f...ndpost&p=265927

-some Viacom channels from Germany https://trac.videola...vlc/ticket/4480

to VLC.

OpenPli webif is the only software capable of doing so thanks to a patch by Scuotivento

https://github.com/E...b7fdb0f56838e2b

Please don't kill this functionality. Having the option to turn it off is OK, disabling it automatically when transcoding would be perfect.

#BTW: As this is my first post: Hello everyone. Very promising work here! I'm on a DM8000.

PS.:

All the channels using "shared PMT" seem to need this parameter (for direct streaming without transcoding) in fact.

Hi guys.

After today's OpenPLi upgrade on Solo2 I cannot get Transcoding to work.

Would the following have something to do with it?

dropbear is the SSH daemon, and that refuses to start if root has no password. I can't imagine it would be related to transcoding.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

@Robinson: Do you use portforwarding? 10 tries to logins with root within a minute. Perhaps somebody tries to hack you?

betacentauri, it is actually my friend's box and I'm trying to help him get transcoding to work and I'm trying to find a reason why it is not working.

These could have been his own attempts I would assume.

Unfortunately, he keeps getting the following on VLC:

Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://192.168.2.150...E:820000:0:0:0:'. Check the log for details.

Hi,

Can you please test this url:

http://192.168.2.150...e:820000:0:0:0:

I just define the hexa value in lowercase instead of uppercase, who knows, in the lamedb they are encoded in lowercase...

Do you also enable transcoding the Openpli setup, by default it is not activated.

I've checked and there is still a problem with transcoding on my Solo2, although it worked fine on OpenPLi from several weeks ago.

No problem with normal streaming at all.

I've tried both  VLC  and Media Player Classic. They both work OK  for 8001 streaming but not for 8002 transcoding.

TranscodingSetup is set to ENABLE and no opening ports on the router is necessary because I'm testing it in LAN.

Also, "Add service name to stream information" is set to NO.

VLC gives me that:

Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://192.168.1.107...E:820000:0:0:0:'. Check the log for details.

MPC gives me that:

Failed to render the file

Can anyone please test transcoding on Solo2 with any recent OpenPLi?

By the way, Enigma2 log gives me something like that when trying to use transcoding (on a Windows computer, not a phone):

[OpenWebif] page '/web/stream.m3u?ref=1%3A0%3A1%3A3ABD%3A514%3A13E%3A820000%3A0%
3A0%3A0%3A&name=TVP+1+HD&device=phone' ok (custom)

Is this correct?

Just tried it here on a Duo2, and it works (with VLC) without problems, so I think we can rule out OpenWebIf. I don't have a Solo2 here, so I can't test that.
