i have flashed OpenPLi-4.0-beta-dm800se-20131005.zip and no sound on AC3+ Channel

Latest dmm driver commit descriptions might suggest they did drop dd+ support???

For me i install the last openpli on dm500HD

 

for have a ac3+ on french channel on 5°W you must disable downmix and before zap on ac3+ channel you must be on channel ac3 and with this setup all is ok

mnn but you are using an AV Receiver, couse with downmix disable i cant hear any channel, only if i use an av receiver and downmix disables(passthrouh)

A question pls, why with another image like "NewEnigma2 V4.0.5" AC3+ channels are working with the same drivers version:

because newenigma is fully based on DMMs manufacturing image... Including the closed source enigma2 binary - which for us is a big black box.

A question pls, why with another image like "NewEnigma2 V4.0.5" AC3+ channels are working with the same drivers version

DMM Oficial, Newnigma2, Oozoon, Merlin, DMS, Tsimage and Dreamelite images are working.
All of them are based on DMM's image.

Maybe there is a special ioctl that enables ac3+ (we can find this using strace) or maybe we need to use to play with ac3plus_choices.

We need to check the value of /proc/stb/audio/ac3plus under DMM Official image. If they are using force_ac3 then we might need to change it also on OpenPLi.

The following changes in runtime the value:

echo "force_ac3" > /proc/stb/audio/ac3plus

PS. Is there a FTA channel that uses AC3+ on 13E or 9E?

I believe I've added support for non-mpeg/ac3 audio pids quite a while ago.

It's "only" an extended pid cache. It works also without cache as you can see on e.g. xtrend boxes where ac3+ works without problems.
Pli currently only caches video pid, ac3 and mpeg audio pid and teletext pid.

Hm yeah you're right. I must have dreamt adding support for other audio codecs (or I should check old development branches, which I never completed nor merged...)

We need to check the value of /proc/stb/audio/ac3plus under DMM Official image. If they are using force_ac3 then we might need to change it also on OpenPLi.

You can change that via telnet with echo value > /proc/..... And try to confirm this....

I use DMM orig. image and I have audio (I'm using analog outputs).

The values I get are the same ones that Athoik says on post #88 ...

The value of /proc/stb/audio/ac3plus on a dreambox image and what if you manupulate /proc/stb/audio/ac3plus on an OpenPli image...

But it might happen that you are stuck on DMM images for new DMM features.

OK. This evening I'll flash latest openpli on my 7020hd, and I'll manipulate values. I'll post results.

Ok. Flashed OpenPLi-4.0-beta-dm7020hd-20131016.nfi and tested.

No luck. I've changed ac3plus value from use_hdmi_caps to force_ac3, restart, and still no sound.

 

Then I've flased again OpenPLi-4.0-beta-dm7020hd-20130930.nfi , and using that image I have AC3+ sound using a small trick , as I told earlier in this post.

I tune a channel with AC3 sound, and then I can zap to channels with AC3+, sound is then active.
