Some of us would greatly appreciate it, since not all images are OpenPLi based images or even if they are one has various versions of the Importer and one doesn't necessarily know if it's the latest official one or not...

Namely, some of us had problems with the modified one - big time! - so, it would be really cool to have it here, to download and install manually, rather than simply presume that it will be available directly from a server (as I explained...)...

I presume it would be very easy to include it in the Sticky, explaining the installation of it...

Thanx a bunch, in advance!

Hi there,

since I am a total newbie and don't want to ruin my freshly-reinstalled image, I would like to ask you whether
my image is compatible with XMLTV-IMPORT (I used to have CrossEPG but lately it is giving me a lot of problems with green screens)

DECODER: AzBox Premium HD;

IMAGE: Spaze 2.1 Quantum

This is what I see from Azup 2.2.7:

Version : 0210201112241606
Creator : SPAZE TEAM
Comment : OpenDreambox
Kernel : 2.6.22.19-25-opensat

Thank you

Would not know.

One requirement I know off, is you need python 2.7 and some python libraries.

If you do not have python 2.7 installed then you are into problems.  The required python libraries can be installed.

python-zlib
python-compression
python-shell
python-html

It is however entirely possible the image you are using already contain these libraries.

Hi Willy,

I tried to install (with the method on rytec.be) it but I got this message:

Extensions/EPGImport (No module named gzip)

and no EPGImport was in the Plugin menu.

Is there a solution to this?

Install first:

python-zlib
python-compression
python-shell
python-html

Of course 2.7 python versions.  (See attached zip file)

Then try reinstalling XMLTV import.  No guaranty it will work, because you are using obviously an image which does not have python fully installed.

I have:

compression 2.5.1-m14    up-to-date
zlib 2.5.1-m14    up-to-date
shel 2.6.4-m18.2    up-to-date

but I think I cannot install "mips32el.ipk" packages.
I think I need Python 2.7 "mipsel.ipk" packages.

Is this possible?

Thanks

If you do not have python 2.7 you will have a big problem.

If you replace python 2.5 with 2.7 on your box, changes are enigma wont work anymore.

Best advise:  Flash with OpenPli.

Try OpenSPA 2.02 or 2.03, if you're hell bent on their E2...

You can also try PBNIGMA or AAF/OpenATV.

Then, there's Sattommy's OpenRSI.

All OpenPLi based.

All for AZbug HD.

Good luck!

If it is OpenPli based, it should have python 2.7 on board.

Depends. Some images are older (2.6). But these are, if I am not badly mistaken, all Python 2.7.

Unless one messed with it badly and "reduced" it a bit here and there...

He's just not following your instructions.

You tell him to install "python-zlib" and he installs "zlib" which is a different thing.

@ gorski

I am not hell-bent on anything.

I did try OpenSPA 2.04 and managed to install XMLTV-import flawlessly.

Shame that:
a. Tivusat emulation freezes every 30 minutes;
b. The decoder lets out a dull humming background sound (both when working and in standby) that hurts my ears, making them ring after a while.
     (it's not the fan, because my Azbox Premium has no fan)

And every other OpenPli image I flashed has these two 2 "defects".

If you know any OpenPli image that doesn't have these two "defects", please do tell me.

How funny you are, your irony doesn't help .......... I AM following Willy's instructions.

I simply stated that on my image mips32el.ipk packets WON'T install. So the zip he posted me on this thread is useless, unfortunately.
Nevertheless, I tried to install them and I wrote what Telnet told me.

Yesterday I humbly went to this site:

http://rytec.be/

read and understood Willy's instructions under "How to install xmltv-import on Enigma2 NON-Pli-images (OE1.5 VERSION)"

downloaded and installed the three files there (all mipsel.ipkg, by the way)

and got the error message I posted.

I wandered into my Azbox file via Maz and found out I have Python 2.6.

I guess I have to settle for CrossEPG, even if it always crashes on some channels (e.g. Rai4).

If you have some other ideas, I am here...........

Forgot about the fact that you are using an AZbox.

I have no idea about what is included here, and how it is put together.

Some ideas if you are using Crossepg:

Use only the XMLTV import file (no Opentv importer - read from transponder or XEPGDB files)

Edit the Crossepg configs in \usr\crossepg\providers\ by replacing:

rytec.channels.xml.gz

with

rytec.channels.xml-sat.gz

This will eliminate the cable channels which causes the problems in Crossepg with the Rytec XMLTV files.

If you have crashes on RAI 4 under which circumstances does this happen?

Crossepg conf files for the XMLTV can be found here: http://openpli.org/f...rcesxml-update/

Hi,

xmltv-import works fine on Azbug, Azbug images are based on OE1.6 version (and some on OE2.0) and not OE1.5 and remember that there is no support for Azbug on Openpli forum since no official Openpli images are build for it (fortunately for Openpli devs  :D   ).

Azbug remains a piece of crap that deserves OpenPli reputation to mention that it is based on it, there is no comparison between real Openpli supported boxes and Azbug "Openpli derivated images".

Indeed.

However, I mentioned a specific OpenSPA image, not 2.04 for a reason (yet again a new kernel/drivers and all that it entails...)...

Thanks Willy,

I had already done that, but CrossEPG reads: "CrossEPG error: invalid provider"

The first time I edited the file with Notepad, today with Dreamweaver, but I get the same error.

For example, today I edited the Italy conf file like this:

description=Rytec Italy XMLTV
protocol=xmltv
channels_url_0=http://rytec.sifteam.eu/rytec.channels.xml-sat.gz
channels_url_1=http://enigma2.world-of-satellite.com/epg_data/rytec.channels.xml-sat.gz
channels_url_2=http://xmltvepg.wanwizard.eu/rytec.channels.xml-sat.gz
channels_url_3=http://www.tm800hd.co.uk/rytec/rytec.channels.xml-sat.gz
channels_url_4=http://www.vuplus-community.net/rytec/rytec.channels.xml-sat.gz
epg_url_0=http://rytec.sifteam.eu/rytecxmltvskyit.gz
epg_url_1=http://enigma2.world-of-satellite.com/epg_data/rytecxmltvskyit.gz
epg_url_2=http://xmltvepg.wanwizard.eu/rytecxmltvskyit.gz
epg_url_3=http://www.tm800hd.co.uk/rytec/rytec/rytecxmltvskyit.gz
epg_url_4=http://www.vuplus-community.net/rytec/rytecxmltvskyit.gz
preferred_language=eng

Where is the mistake? Should I edit it with some other program (I'm on Vista)?

The Rai 4 problem is simple. Every time I zap onto that channel or I see the EPG on the right of the channel list I get a green screen.

Thanks

Try this.  The TM800 website does not exist anymore.

(this reminds me I should update the crossepg providers)

I will take a look at the RAI4 epg content.  But do not have your hopes up.
