Ik heb nog een logje in de /tmp op mijn xp1000, volgensmij van de samba server:

Is dat ook normaal?

misschien spelen er meer problemen (er is tussen 3.9 en 3.12 vrij veel aan TCP optimalisatie verbouwd).
In mijn netwerk was het uitschakelen van deze specifieke optimalisatie in ieder geval duidelijk de oplossing.

Is dat ook normaal?

ik kijk nooit in die logfile, maar ik denk niet dat het gerelateerd is.
Was ook eenmalig, tijdens starten van smbd zo te zien.

Als je problemen ziet met "bulk" transfers terwijl "kleine" transfers wel goed gaan, dan is het goed de end-to-end mtu eens onder de loep te nemen. Dat kan dan weer goed met een ping, packet size > 1450, dan moet er gefragmenteerd gaan worden. Als je dan niks meer terugkrijgt, alle nic's en switches nakijken, dat hoeft niet per sé een bug ergens te zijn.

Erik je draaft door... maar dat mag. Alle pings lopen prima met 1450 tot 1500 bytes als size.

 

Die kleine bestandjes gaan als een trein maar wat me wel opvalt is dat als ik twee keer achter elkaar dezelfde kleine bestandje van de box afhaal dat die dan de 2e keer ook gaat throttelen op 2 kb/s

Als ik er een paar seconden tussen laat zitten gaat het de 2e keer ook op snelheid.

Die samba log is normaal en niet gerelateerd aan dit probleem.

Inderdaad is 't probleem niet opgelost, wel wat verbeterd. Als ik een timeshift start over netwerk, gaat dat een halve minuut ofzo goed, en daarna gaat de boel haperen en stotteren. Afspelen van content gaat wel, maar ophalen van de opnamelijst is na een beetje netwerkgebruik heel traag. Afspelen blijft echter goed gaan, verkeer van de box naar buiten is het probleem duidelijk.

Te vroeg getikt, na een paar minuten afspelen (tussen deze en de vorig post...) gaat ook het afspelen haperen.

Probleem is er nog altijd, verdorie verdorie... hier geen enkele verbetering gemerkt. OpenPLI totaal onbruikbaar op de XP1000 op dit moment, tenzij je 'm alleen als kijkdoos inzet. Is er een rode vlag die kan gehesen worden, zodat het hele team hier gaat naar kijken?

When begans problems with slow net ( strange, that ftp works well for me still), begans problem with autoinstall again - empty /media/hdd => user's autoinstall file must then to have path to /media/sdb1). Same as when was problem with sucession loading modules.

De eerste paar netwerk acties gaan prima op snelheid, totdat er ergens iets volgelopen is en dan is het slow slow.

Gun je de netwerkkaart even een rustpauze dan gaat het netwerk eventjes weer op snelheid en dan is het weer slow slow.

Het lijkt de nederlandse snelweg wel met die matrixborden die aangeven dat je 50 moet en de weg is al lang weer vrij.

Even ter leering ende vermaeck, wat gebeurt er als je mtu van de interface op veel minder zet, bijvoorbeeld de helft? Let wel even op dat de sessie waarmee je ingelogd zit hiermee kan komen vast te zitten, je moet dan opnieuw inloggen. Wie weet levert dit een (hopelijk zeer tijdelijke) workaround op.

Zou dit er wat mee te maken hebben? er wordt duidelijk verzocht om dit in te schakelen maar de driver laat dit niet toe.

Geen firmware en businfo... dat lijkt me niet goed wel?

bcmgenet... als ik dat moet vertalen: broadcom GigabitEthernet networkdriver.... maar het is slechts een fastethernet...

of bedoelen ze broadcom general ethernet networkdriver... zal het dat wel zijn

 

Ik heb hier geloof ik de sources voor deze driver gevonden:

XP1000/hdd -> PC ... 6,1MB/s

 

XP1000/mounted_hdd_from_DM800 -> PC ... 5,3MB

PC -> XP1000/mounted_hdd_from_DM800 ... 3,6MB/s

 

SMB:

PC -> XP1000/hdd ... 6,5MB/S

XP1000/hdd -> PC ... 6,6MB/s

 

Why you think, that problem is in NET ?

Your box is in standby? Mine is on, will test that scenario too once the skating in Hamar is done.

Did a test with FTP just a second ago. A 12MB file from PC to XP1000 is copied at normal speed. However from XP1000 to PC: a transfer time of over one hour!

Well in standby same results.... copy files from xp1000 to another device: slow!

 

And a very strange XP1000 you have since a XP1000 cant have any harddisk

So I stick to my "fault is in network driver"

 

And indeed Wimpie3, transfers to the XP1000 are at normal speed.
