I have ET9000 and can't get rid of RuDREAM logo either. It's this damn splash screen.
I'm afraid there's nothing you can do for ET9000 at the moment.
Read this: http://openpli.org/f...ange-need-help/ as well as the other threads referenced in there.

What do you mean you changed 5 images and nothing happened?
Do you mean:
a) you changed 5 images and the VIX logo is still there?
or
B) you changed 5 images and the changes never left an old logo up till now?
If you mean a), it only confirmsa what I wrote above.

I mean IMAGE as a firmware ... Xtrend ,pli, alliance ...etc and I think this logo stuck on bootloader level how they mess with it !?
WanWizard 7 Feb 2014
The vendor logo is not in the image, so flashing an image doesn't help (unless it has specific code to replace it, like VIX).
Xtrend has removed flashing the vendor logo from the bootloader, leaving you with the problem of a third-party logo.

Yes, the VU still supports flashing a vendor logo.
I don't know where it is stored in flash, and how to remove it. You'll need someone (a lot) more technical than I am...

TY for kindness reply !
and I hope somebody puts light on this

Did you use the search function here, and on the other forum where you posted the same question?

The xtrend bootlogo is loaded the same way as an image, but with splash.bin

There is no 'specific code' involved. Just add a splash.bin to the image folder and you're done. Of course the screen must be in the right format.

what is the latest bootloader for et9x00 cause I test other bootloader I get BSOD

So do I understand you correctly that you had to flash an old bootloader to get rid of this unwanted Splash logo on your ET9x00?
Did you flash the new bootloader again afterwards?
WanWizard 8 Feb 2014
There is no 'specific code' involved. Just add a splash.bin to the image folder and you're done. Of course the screen must be in the right format.
Afaik the current bootloader doesn't have any support anymore for flashing the vendor logo.
Which is why you need the old bootloader to fix it, and which I say that VIX does more than only including the splash.bin, because the current bootloader will not pick it up when you flash anymore.
If that were the case, then including the original xtrend splash.bin when you flash OpenPLi would also fix the problem. Is that the case?

VIX don't anything special ... there no additional code etc.. !

don't attach with bootloader ...
you can do it by attach splash.bin to your IMAGE backup in same folder "et9x00" , cause playing with bootloader is unpredictable case !
good luck

If you unpack the current OpenPLi 4 image on a USB stick, and you add the splash.bin from the old bootloader zip, does it replace it?
If the answer is yes, the story that the current bootloader doesn't support it anymore is false. If the answer is no, VIX does something extra.
That is what I asked. So if I understand you correctly, the answer is yes?
If so, perhaps this should go into the wiki, with instructions and a copy of that splash.bin file, to avoid others from doing what you had to do...
Robinson 8 Feb 2014
ajeeb, I tried it a few months ago but failed so I assumed that the most recent bootloader does not support splash screen flashing.

splash.bin is a separated file u can make it by yourself ! it's bitmap ... but I use ready file from Xtrend support forum
what I did is attaching the file with old bootloader (not recommended cause my box was BSOD for half day )
you can try now take your backup image and copy splash.bin into et9x00 and try it
I can't test it with firmware now cause am at work
good luck
plz check attached file
