As I have to re-compile them regulary to fix bugs, add features and and use latest sources as basis, yes they have expiry dates (which means they simply stop operation, the are not bombing anything until now) so that I don't neet to fiddle around with old bugs and need to support only the latest version.

Easily remedied. Open your source, put it in a public repo, and anyone has access to the latest version. Your problem only exists because you keep things closed, so people need to pass binaries around.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Please add "ignore user's post" option in forum. We desperately need this.

Under your profile on top of the page choose ignore prefs

et voila, there it is

@WanWizard

Thanks for your advice, but it doesn't work as expected.

OpenPLI is a perfect example that this doesn't work either - people are passing your old images around and then regulary open threads here why this or that doesn't work with Open PLi 2.1, OpenPli 3.0, and finally complain that this or that it doesn't work with 4.0 either and they have this or that only working on OpenPLi X.Y

The same applies to your camemebert too, where people are desperately seeking old versions of these closed source binaries for various reasons.

If have LOTS of Open source plugins where people are opening posts asking for support for year old versions abandoned long ago or report problems with them solved long ago.

So I take the freedom to stay with my simple rule to support ONLY the latest version and 'motivate' people to use it is not that bad as it sounds no matter if it is open or not.

PS: anybody already found the solution to the 'where is the bootlog in Flash' puzzle ?

Its simple just reflash the bootloader with the new splash.bin that's what I did to get rid of the annoying VIX logo

Isn't that a question you should ask the VIX team?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

That is indeed not a ViX-image, but a ViX-clone.

Just flash the Openpli image and gone is the VIX logo

No this doens't work, OpenPLi never changed the splash screen so you cannot retrieve the original or change the splash by flashing an OpenPLi image. It is always the latest one that change it that remains.
