@Acds,

noticed recently that the plugin has stopped working. This may be due to changes that OPLi/Rytec have made, and may need you to ammend your plugin?

Basicaly what is happening is that "EPGImport Filter" wont progress after pressing either "Install" or "Advanced". It just gets stuck waiting to "Downloading channel file"

Attached File  epg-import-filter-b-01.jpg   38.76KB   10 downloads

I have no idea when this occured as after creating my original filtered epg I haven't had the need to reuse it. However today I did a spring clean (wiped USB & stb) and have done a fresh install.

PS I can recover my filtered channels from a previous backup and copy them back :) so it's not urgent.

cheers Colin

As far as I can see the plug-in uses the rytec.sources.xml file as installed in /etc/epgimport/

If you experience difficulties, you may have to update the rytec sources.

Via telnet:

opkg update
opkg upgrade enigma2
-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec

or

Via Menu - Applications, deinstall enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec and reinstall.  This will update the sources for updating the EPG.

Thanks Willy,

but as mentioned.

This is a fresh install from the sources provided by OPLi

I noticed a while back it stopped working but never passed the info on (My Bad).

Ola,

I think this is ONLY using "Rytec sources" so if you need some changes to their epg-info, you should ask them on a separate post.

Hi pluizebol,

i have been trying to work out why this plugin has stopped working for me. So read again this thread. I found this post which made laugh (In a Good Way).

You have any Ideas ?

ColinB

Is it still stuck there.

What can be done to un-stuck it ?

@pluizebol,

never sugguested that you were resposible for the plugin. Only asking if it is still working, and as you are one of the names in this thread. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask you if it's working for you.

Is this plugin working for you pluizebol ?

Oh I see.

It took an awful long time to get it available in the feeds because it apparently "got stuck" in the dev-environment of Pli (or whatever the exact name is).

I really wanted to give it a try and asked therefor to "un-stuck" it (pun intended D-English of course).

I do not use the extension anymore because :

- it did not really shorten the daily import time.

- it was (at least for me) not as easy to configure as I hoped for.

Sorry for not being able to help you any better.

I noticed the first channel provider in "rytec.sources.xml" is "http://rytec.sifteam...channels.xml.gz", that is no more supported by sifteam and the file didn't exist anymore... maybe the epgimportfilter doesn't handle this case and that's why it stopped working?

I'm not at home now, but maybe someone has already give a try in removing the sifteam link in the rytec.sources.xml file?

Hi I don't see any refferences to sifteam in the rytec.sources on my box.

Although I do think you are on the right track as to why EPGIF has stopped working.

If your box is up to date, and you have a supported importer running, you should also have an up-to-date version of the sources file.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Hello everyone,

the plugin won't work with older images because old rytec file contains http links that are invalid:

This is "old" rytec source file:

First 2 links in the rytec file are not available anymore, that's why you get errors.

The plugin should work with the latest image and latest rytec source file that have proper http links.

Generally I tried to fix the problem in epgimportfilter to properly try additional links if first link is not available and I have a problem. It seems that callback function for error handling in twisted.web.client.downloadPage is not working properly. It seems that on invalid links error callback never happens.

If someone can assist me with this problem I could fix this to work even with older images.

Just read about ddos on the rytec channels sites (this caused the epgimportfilter to stop working properly).

Quite big of an issue. It smells of a bad programmed plugin for sure.

Thanks Acds for explaining the failure! I looked in the source and understood eas not your plugin 's fault..
Maybe a status message if channels file aren't found would be useful!
Happy easter!

I am trying to make it even better by skipping broken links but the problem is that external library that should download the file and report the error is not working properly.

Hoping for someone from core PLI programmers could assist.

Guys, managed to fix the issue.

EpgImportFilter will now skip broken channel file links.

Uploaded the new version to the git.

New version is also in the attachment for manual install.
