The OpenWebIF-Plugin is broken for my Duo2 with today's update

OpenPLi-4.0-beta-vuduo2-20150109_usb.zip 2015/01/09 11:51 - 59.61MB

Thi iss true - if you go to Plugins menu, something complains about "tpm_check" not defined, regarding to OpenWebif.

I've just deleted all files under /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/OpenWebif/ and downloaded the current state of the github repository as zip file from https://github.com/E...lugin-OpenWebif and extracted the content of the folder plugin into /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/OpenWebif/

Now it works again, maybe this should also get resolved automatically on a new update i think.

The cause of the versioning weirness is in openembedded-core. Here's a link to the patch that will fix it:

http://lists.openemb...ary/100593.html

If you want to get rid of the messages, just re-flash. Otherwise, wait until that patch has been merged into OE.

Yeah, just move to another image if you want to update without any technical reason.... there is freedom of choice nowadays :)

Even though OpenPli has been having problems, it has always been and still is the best image for me.

I have tried others but always come back to OpenPli.

Long may it last!

The last year (starting with 4 versions) OpenPLi is trying to create the most "updated" environment for users and developers.

Unfortunately the tools OpenPLi uses has bugs (like every software in this world). Also BSP layers had many issues.

Updating OE brings improvements and new features. Unike others, OpenPLi follows OE development very closely.

One of the bigger problems was the shared feeds, but with the common libc that problem was solved.

+ Shared feeds reduces the size required by the build server
+ Common Libc reduces the build time required by the build server
- Bug was introduced in Enigma2 after the change of common libc, the DVB version checks
+ Enigma2 now uses runtime DVB version checking
- Bug was introduced with receivers without floating point
+ BSP layers now handle correctly the tune parameters (hard / soft)

Another problem is the upgrade paths get broken with PR Server.

+ Using PR Server you do not have to manually increase PR making updates easier.
- PR Server bug is causing problems until fix is merged

The OpenPLi team is trying to give the best software for it's users on their spare time. And they are doing their best.

OpenPLi set's the standards. Forcing manufactures to fix problems instead of creating again (and again....) ugly workarounds.

Other teams stole merge OpenPLi code but only few are giving nice, clean patches back to base
Other teams have their developemnt under closed doors (breaking bad GPL because they do not provide the sources)
Other teams wish OpenPLi and other open source forks to cease... (DMM case  )

Go Go OpenPLi...

I guess this means that those who don't want to reflash right now will have to wait a long time for the fix?

Any ETA?

None known. As MiLo already says, the reports are harmless. If they bother you, make a backup, flash and restore, tops 10 mins. work.

Odd error on my duo2 with twin tuner s2. When using latest image, with active recording on tuner B. All other (non-recording) channels are black. Only way to ge the channels back, is to terminate the active recording. After reverting to old backup from November everything works. What to do?

Reply to my own question: This was caused by the fact that I was using an old/buggy version of CCCAM. Installed newest version available in the plugin-feed, now it works.
Solves problem with not beeing able to view other channels while recording on tuner B in a dual tuner setup. Also solves hang issue when viewing EPG while recording.
