I now have the blindscan utils installed, but still the same, even after power cycle.

The package includes:

/usr/bin/vuplus_6211_blindscan
/usr/bin/vuplus_blindscan
/usr/bin/vuplus_6222_blindscan

Maybe the plugin is using the wrong binary (/location).

In the meantime, users can "fix" the issue by manually installing the virtual package virtual/blindscan-dvbs.

for et9x00 the problem is that nothing provides blindscan utils (as I tried awkwardly to explain already)

and when you try to install it manually, then, surprise ;) :

root@et9x00:~# opkg install virtual/blindscan-dvbs
Installing dreambox-blindscan-utils (1.7-r1.4) on root.
Downloading http://downloads.pli-images.org/feeds/openpli-4/mips32el/dreambox-blindscan-utils_1.7-r1.4_mips32el.ipk.
Installing libncurses5 (5.9-r15.1.10) on root.

Et9x00 has a dependency on dreambox-blindscan-utils? That's not right. IIRC these are actually more or less generic dvb-c scanning tools. I will have to check.

On the VU+Duo2 it works now, I guess the VU+Solo2 as well. Problem was a missing dependency. Remove the plugin and reinstall it, it should installed the blindscan binary as well nu.

I'm affraid the plugin still needs some adjustment (regarding binaries path) to work:

@all (whom it may concern ;))
could you please confirm if blindscan finally works on vu+/et9x00 boxes after today's update?
(it should, actually, but just to make sure...)

could you please post the output of:

opkg list-installed | grep blindscan

(btw. for some unknown reason searching  by opkg list-installed *blindscan* falsely finds nothing here /!?/)

and as to vusolo2, according to manufacturer's bsp layer, only vuduo2, vuultimo, vuuno and vusolose are blindscan capable

https://github.com/v...er/conf/machine

if that's not true, they need to correct vusolo2.conf (and maybe others?) then, so that blindscan binaries are provided for it also...

I can assure you that the Solo2 is blindscan capable; does even the best job of all my boxes.

see my previous post, the part regarding solo2 - blindscan won't work for this box until its machine conf file is adjusted in vuplus bsp layer (maintained by vu)

(and @devs, please change architecture of dreambox-blindscan-utils to MACHINE_ARCH, been mentioned a few times already...)

Yes, the machine_feature blindscan-dvbs that has been included in the config of the solo2 before, has vanished, it should return. I will request that.

Solo2 has the best blindscan tuner in the Vu+ range. Blindscan works fine on the Solo2 using the OE-A version, and as far as I know Dima73 used that STB when modifying the plugin for OpenPLi.

I had been rolling back the firmware updates in order to keep a working blindscan plugin. As of tonight, both the old and new blindscan plugins work. Thanks! EB

Both of these work for me now without any issues.
