Who wants to check, add RecordTimer.py in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/ and restart enigma.

Just gave it a quick try, will give a more detailed test later (today/tomorrow).

It saved the timeshift file perfect (Just a quick test)

However, in my situation timeshift is running on usb/

so file was save to root of usb media/usb/

not media/usb/movie

Many thanks Colin :)

Will come back when I have more time

@Dimitrij :)

&All

I have to say I was not expecting anyone to write this code, I was only asking (OP) if the option was hidden somewhere ?

TBH, like we have discussed. This "Detail" is only going to be missed, when you least expect it to happen to you. But when it does, before, there was no option.

I sincerely have to say thanks to PR2 for grasping my question and Dimitrij for his work.

Cheers Colin

Your suggestion does not solve the issue... When a recording starts a timeshift can still be stopped so you do not have the complete event...

Therefore I prefer an out of the box solution that indicates the max remaining time a timeshift could be.... And indicate that as soon the timeshift is started so the user can proactivaly decide what he does...

And I would only recommend to give this popup when there is a real timer conflict. As far I can see now it always pops when a timeshift is running and a recording should start....

So it only gives popup stuff when the timeshift breaks? Can you please explain this a bit on your posted code?

If realy need zap to timer service and setting 'User interface'/'Show warning when timeshift is stopped' if yes:

1)If timeshift is Live tv show popup(timeout 20sec)

choice list (Zap/Save timeshift and zap/Don't zap/Save timeshift in movie dir and zap/Don't zap and disable timer/Don't zap and remove timer)

2)If timeshift is not Live tv show popup(timeout 20sec)

choice list (Save timeshift and zap/Don't zap/Zap/Save timeshift in movie dir and zap/Don't zap and disable timer/Don't zap and remove timer)

Hi,

Sorry but I don't understand what is "timeshift is not Live tv show"?
Why do we have such distinction?

Thanks,

Pr2

With my terrible knowledge of English :D ?

Add new option  for conflict timeshift/timer.

Show selection window(Save timeshift and zap/Don't zap/Zap/Save timeshift in movie dir and zap/Don't zap and disable timer/Don't zap and remove timer) if timeshift enabled and start timer and need zap to recording service.

Sorry, did not look into the code.
But does this prevent the box from zapping to the channel which should be recorded? Or is it a x seconds message box? If not, then the channel cannot be recorded (-> not a good idea)

Pushed...

The is a 20 sec timneout on the MessageBox and as far I can see it will store the timeshift, stop the timeshift and record the timer by default.

I have one question regarding the default (unattended) save location.

As it is now, the default save location is the same location as the "timeshift".

Would this be better to be the "movie directory" ?

Logic being.. The timeshift is being interupted by a "Timer Recording" which has to be recorded somewhere. I.E. "movie directory"

Then the User only has One directory to manage (watch/delete etc).
